well i do indeed have a major foot fetish Im beginning to think it might be a bit out of control someone was talking a few weeks ago on here about how the fetish matures with age which is true. I've always wondered why i had this fetish and i did some research on it and found that most psychiatrists and experts think it starts as a child which now that i look back on my childhood makes perfect sense. They say if you were not held enough as a baby obviously what you see most of the time crawling around/laying on the floor is everyones feet. Now the issue im having with this is embarrassment obviously a 5 year old is not aware of this fetish and its not sexual i was being questioned on when i first realized i had a foot fetish and i was not able to answer. Obviously what i did when i was 5 and what im doing now is completely different but thinking that it started back then is a bit freakish. The other day my wife was at the pool with her niece and we were on the phone talking i asked her what she was doing and she said she was dipping her foot in the pool thats all it took i was ready for her to come inside. I don't want to freak her out with this she claims to enjoy it and be into it but before me she never experienced it so i do kind of shy away about it at times even tho we just had our 5 year anniversary im still slightly embarrassed about it. Is this just me or does anyone else feel this way?

i would infer that it would be something more symbolic than that~

considering that 10000x more men than women have that fetish and it is not like female babies aren't allowed to crawl on the floor and notice feet, i would say it is some other variable involved and therefore that notion is a fallacy~

No kidding. The whole viloent video games being influential is a complete pile of bullshit. I'll tell you what it is. It's parents not liking violence and forcing it on their children. The poor things.

A "foot fetish" from what I understand is actually what is called "partialism".

If you read closely the official criteria for having partialism, you can see that anyone who REALLY likes big breasted women or men with big muscles has partialism like yourself. It just so happens that the body part that arouses you is the foot.

Personally I don't think that being aroused by feet is any less prevalent than breasts or big muscles, but the breast and big muscle people have been more vocal about their standpoint...though I've heard that in Japan quite a number of people find the foot very erotic. Who knows, perhaps she would even be flattered that you find HER feet so arousing.

I don't want to freak her out with this she claims to enjoy it and be into it but before me she never experienced it...

And as far as this goes, I have met a number of people that really had never experienced a good tickling before meeting me, and genuinely loved it afterwards.

I'd second partialism myself.

People "concentrate" on body parts. They look for catalysts [or are they... catalusts?] to get excited about.

Breasts, bums, legs, are just mainstream fetishes.
Since they are traditionally considered sexual areas, erogenous parts, nobody really sweats about them.

Feet, hands, faces are "closet" fetishes, in comparision with "mainstream" fetishes.
But they are both fetishes anyway.

It's the way brain and sexuality work.
Fetishes are just the key to a person's sexuality.

Without it, we'd never get aroused, or we'd always be.

Ive just liked feet(goodies), there is no biological or psychological need for an explanation. Earliest memory was me at grammar school(i was pre school at time) my mum helped out at the school, they had some kinda talent show and there was a clown who was performin, took off an 8th graders shoe, tickled her foot then balanced her shoe on his nose. I enjoyed that very much and is my first memory spanning all the way to pre school years.

EXACTLY. This is the same explanation I've used when trying to "explain" my fetish to people.
