I think there have been other posts like this. The hardest parts are cutting the circular holes, say 3.5 inch diameter,( hole cutting saw, like for putting in a deadbolt lock or jigsaw to scroll around after drilling a pilot hole) and then ripping across the board( table or circular saw). Then drill holes in the ends to attach a hinge on one side and a hasp and staple on the other. All this work, like using any power tool, can be dangerous and eye protection should always be worn and the board must be clamped down to assure an accurate cut, drill etc and minimize the danger. A 2X6 board is wide enough to make a set of stocks.
