I know its a little early but I'm jonesing for my football fix. Who do you guys think will represent the AFC and NFC in the Super Bowl? And who is your sleeper pick to go deep into the playoffs? GO!

Jags vs Cowboys. There were about 2-3 on each side, but I tried to narrow it down to answer the question. The sleeper pick is the Saints. Their offense is already one of the most dangerous and they've made big upgrades on D. I'm just not sure if they did enough at the cornerback position.

Great picks all around. The Jags were really tough last year and should improve. And I agree the Saints have too much offense not to be much better than last year.
I have a hard time picking teams myself. As much as I don't want to say it, I think I have to pick the Patriots in the AFC. One year removed from a 16-0 season, I have to give those cheaters the benefit of the doubt. As for the NFC, the Cowboys do seem like the logical pick. I can't imagine them choking in the playoffs again. Even though these are 2 of my least favorite teams, I guess that's my Super Bowl pick.
For a sleeper pick, I'm debating the Saints, Rams, and Browns. The Browns were decent last year so they might not be considered a sleeper. If the Rams O-line doesn't improve by 100% they are still screwed, but they have great skill positions. I'm going to agree with you and pick the Saints. They finally started clicking toward the end of the season but it was too late then. I think they've improved on D and I would think they learned from last years mistakes.

As sad as it is to admit, I think if the Patriots did win it all this year, it would legitimize them as a great team. I hate Belichek and I think he's a cheater, but I also think he has one of the great football minds of all time. And I don't like Brady, but he is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Hopefully we won't have to ask ourselves this question because the Patriots will suck and miss the playoffs.

I'm glad somebody came out and picked the Pats before I did, since everybody hates them.

I want to take this opportunity to ask a question that never got answered on the spygate thread. Now, there is no doubt that the Pat's coaching staff has broken some filming rules, but the spotlight is definitely on them now, so you know they will have to be legit this year. Question is, if they come back and kick ass again this year, will that add any legitimacy to their past success at all? I mean, I know cheating takes true legitimacy away, but there have been comments made that basically amount to:

"I always wondered how such mediocre players won all those games"

Well, the same lineup is basically returning, so what if they win it all this year?

As far as the NFC goes, Dallas does look good, but Romo needs to prove himself in a big game.

The run they had will always be tarnished. They also broke a couple of

cardinal rules of the Pats organization when they signed Moss. Those are

that they signed a big- time player witha a history of being a malcontent, and

then they gave him a big money, which they never did with WR`S before

The Pats paid a high profile athlete lots of money? How dare they!

Seriously though, they paid Moss more than other receivers because he's the best one they've ever signed. Moss actually took a small pay cut to play in NE.

They completely went away from the Pats philosophy of not giving anyone

big contracts to anyone { Excpt Brady } They always believed they could

replace anyone { except Brady} through the draft . they did it again by not

signing Assante Samuel . They have no proven Cb`s right nw that are

everydown guys. I said proven , the rookie they drafted isn`t proven.

The biggest reason why they resigned Moss is because Brady would have

been majorly pissed if they hadn`t . He used the media to get that point

across

I think it'll be Dallas vs. San Diego in SB XLIII. I have the Browns as my sleeper pick. It wouldn't surprise me if they made it to the Super Bowl.

I am not from Michigan. I am from New York. I moved to Michigan. I also happen to be with a lady who graduated from The Ohio State University.

To answer your question about how often do people die in sports???? Well Sean Taylor died during the football season. Corrct me if I am wrong but a Bronco was killed the same day the season ended. You mean they just disappeared??? No. They died.
