Since I first heard about this incident, I've been reading more articles about snakes.
Supposedly, most snakes won't bite, unless they feel severely threatened or provoked.
It is said that if someone does get bitten by , for example, a rattlesnake. , it is crucial for them to get medical treatment within the first hour or two, and the survival rate of a snakebite is then supposedly 99%.
I knew one guy in summer camp who used to like to pick up and play with snakes, so the camp nature counselor, caught a supposedly non poisonous garter snake, put it in a cage, and would feed it through an opening. Lately, from what I've been reading, even garter snakes supposedly contain poison.
