Mi madre...

Mom was just up there, and she said it's a mess! The creek (pronounced "crick" when you're upstate) was completely drybed, and the fruit trees were wilted and drooping. What's the deal? The drought is THAT bad up there? On LI we have a nearly infinite supply of groundwater, so our only problem is pressure, not quantity...didn't know it had gotten that serious up your way! Q

Q...It's the same in CT. Farmers are losing their crops. Everything's drying up in the fields. Though the weather service has yet to make it official again, we're in bad shape. Those who aren't spending the money to water things every day are losing what's there...lawns, gardens, fields. I'm waiting for things to flip and have us under water like half of the rest of the world.

Pete's mom had a wonderful garden. Full of veggies and herbs. She has to water it every day ot the soil just dries out. It is bad all over.
