Although this question has probably been asked before, I can't recall seeing it and I've wondered about this for some time....

Everyone has some limits on when, where, how long, how often, etc. So this is essentially a question of "how often" or "how much" is too much or, simply, when's NOT the time for tickling for the ones who enjoy it the most?

The reason I'm asking is that, for me, MANY more tickling opportunities arise with women friends who may not be into tickling as opposed to with those who really are (and know it). But there's really no way to gauge just how "into it" they might actually be without a comparison with the "gold standard"--i.e., all you wonderfully masochistic 'lees here. :tickle: 😉

So I'm asking: When do you dislike being tickled? How much tickling is too much for you? and/or how often is too often? (Lers, please feel free to chime in on when you've reached your own lee's limit in the past)

well i never get tickled hardly. but i would say that i'm not in the mood to be tickled when i'm in physical or mental pain, more the former probably.. also if i am in a bad mood i doubt i would want to be tickled..

depends...i'm normally in the mood for tickles on most days...but the times i just don't feel up to it are after work, especially if it was a difficult day. the only other time is when depression hits hard and i'm not in the mood for any contact...but those instances are few and far between.

Yeah, there's times -

When I'm PMSing, do NOT even touch me let alone tickle me. :Grrr:

When I have to go to the bathroom, stay away.

And when I have a migraine you even think about tickling me and you will die slowly and painfully. :ranty:

Maybe a little tickling would lift your bad mood? I volunteer!

I'm usually in the mood, unless I'm sick. Colds, flu, stomach virus, and the like. Limits? Hmmm. Kimmie once tickled me with really soft feathers for five hours (With water and bathroom breaks). I've tickled her a couple of hours at a time, and only stop because I'm anxious for my turn!

When I'm eating

When I'm sleeping deeply

If I am ill(colds, flu, migraines, etc)

Do not hit any 12 spots in public.

i highly doubt that..and i dare you to try.. when i'm in a bad mood, i am really in a bad mood.. :twohugs:

If I'm just not feeling well, or if I'm particularly tired....and yeah...when I'm pissed about something....those wouldn't be opportune times...

Thanks, folks. Great answers so far. It's really enlightening to hear the "stopping points" of folks who admittedly like being tickled more than pretty much anyone else. Most of these are pretty much common sense too, so that's encouraging.

It occurred to me another time when I've found tickling someone particularly inappropriate and/or (frequently) unwelcome: when it's uncomfortably hot/humid. At those times, prolonged close contact is generally avoided until relief is found.

Wellllll, then if not tickling, how about a foot rub? Or a shoulder rub? I used to work at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and I was famous for my shoulder rubs. I guarantee they'd lift your spirits.

I was going to say, this is a big one for me. Another one is if I don't like you or if I'm eating.

If I've said no... for any reason...

Similar, would imagine it's not fun when sick, definitely not with aches of any sort, really tired... Doubt that would be fun to be woken up with...

The mindset/intent of the "ler" would also be a factor; someone tickled me who had *no idea I was into it, after I told him no (distinctly) due to embarrassment... I didn't see it coming later, and he then kept it up way beyond where he clearly should've stopped. I didn't know about safewords at the time, it was before I found this site, and he didn't offer one. (Here's hoping the promiscuous lout suffered pre-coital charlie-horses for the following three years... minimum...)

Probably yet another reason I have *below zero* tolerance for ANYTHING real marketed as Non-Consensual. 😡

I.e. when the "ler" disregards, could care less about (or, worse, enjoys) the real distress of the "lee," to answer the question more precisely. That *does kinda ruin it... When in doubt, NO MEANS NO!!!!!

They thought so. Now that I look back at my post, I see it makes no sense. Let me explain a bit more. While I worked at BB&B, there were a number of ladies I worked with. Now I'm happily married, and everyone knew that, so I'm a "Safe guy". But I was always offering back rubs for the stressed out ones. They seemed to like it very much, and my wife will vouch for the fact that I'm pretty good at it.

When I've already said no and you 'know' I mean it.

When I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you.

When I'm trying to have a serious conversation with other people.

When I'm obviously in what I call Porcupine Mode: don't wanna be touched, looked at, breathed on wrong, etc. You will NOT lighten my mood, but I bet I'll darken yours :ignite:

If I'm in the middle of a totally different type of play and we haven't discussed it beforehand-not all sensations jibe well... :whip:
