So your laying in bed watching tv or laying on the couch watching a movie and ur little one ( doesnt matter the age) comes up and starts tickling ur feet....

1) What do you do?

2) Is it something that's not allowed in ur house between child and parent and only something enjoyed by the spouse?

3) A. Dads: If you see mom get tickled, do you help the child tickle her or tell the child to stop, or sit back and watch?

B. Moms: same question

I'm just curious to know how the mom's and dad's feel about being tickled by their child.

Me personally, being a young woman and single (childless) I think its the cutest thing in the world really. If (or when) I get married, and my husband and I are cuddling on the couch and our little 3 or 4 yr old comes over and starts tickling my feet, I'd let them. I think its a form of interaction and even better because the child has a want to see me laugh and smile. And I'm hoping my husband would help our child tickle me...for the pure fun of it all..

So tell me ur thoughts 🙂

I personally would see no problem with it. I'm a Dad, who has a 16 year old daughter, but has sadly not been able to spend the early years with her. However, I too consider it to be cute, and sometimes a signal from them that they want to play and would be inclined to grab and tickle them back.
And lets just say that me and my spouse are the ones watching TV and the child proceeds to tickle my wifes feet.....then I would lend my assistance to my child >🙂

on the flipside: if the parent finds the tickling to produce feelings that might lead them to something more...adult in nature, then it needs to be stopped immediately, and the parent should reasses their family values.

This is a very good point.

I think it really comes down to whether or not the parent can seperate the sexual side of their tickling passion from the more innocent side. For some people thats very difficult. If you can enjoy tickling for purely innocent, non-sexual reasons than theres not problem....

No worries...

I have never had a problem separating the two. I honestly believe that tickling is either heriditary, learned behavior, or both. If our kids get half a chance at mom's feet, they never turn it down. While tickling my wife's foot a couple of weeks ago, our six year old girl came over and said "oh, I can help with that", and started tickling my wifes other foot. Our three year old was tickling her just this afternoon.

At any rate, it doesn't bother me at all, and I usually die laughing just because it _is_ so funny! Watching my wife do the "herky jerk" laughter to a three year olds tickling fingers has always cracked me up.

TK

Now I don't have any children becuase my boyfriend and I aren't ready let alone married, however, I always always baby sit my aunts adopted children and one of them is four years old. His name for the sake of privacy, is Andrew. I always tickle Andrew just to play around with him. It never occured to ME or my boyfriend as a sexual thing at all. I feel it is only a turn on for me ( to be tickled or tickle) is when it envolves my boyfriend. So I agree completely with your statement...and this is a good question. Because I always wondered if anyone ever had a problem with seperating play and sexy play.

Same for me. I tickle my nieces and nephews (I don't have any children) all the time, and it produces no sexual feeling at all for me. It's just fun. 🙂

I'd agree in this situation. If there's no sexual feeling involved, it's perfectly alright.

I'll add to that; I like to torment my sister on occasion - it's all just good, clean fun though.

Yeah, I for 1 dont really have a sexual thing for tickling, just like the sound of laughs...and I too have a VERY ticklish sister, and I used to playfully tickle her one's or twice, but now she's somewhere else.....with horses.😛

Yeah. Well to me in such a case it would be lovable and cute. And in no way sexually interpreted. It'd be adorable... no other word for it.

Its person by person basis, if in your relationship tickling is stirctly a sexual starter for your relationship then id say try to avoid because you dont want to even come close to mix emotions with tickling and your child or so

I too agree with the forementioned. I have neices and a great nephew. I tickle them all in play. We get a long well and respect one another. I say to those who question the subject, If there is anything that leads to being sexual about the tickling I say "STOP IT IMMEDIATELY".

When my kids were younger we'd play and sometimes tickling was involved. For me there is a thick line between sensual touching/tickling and horseplay type tickling. As adults and parents we should understand and set the guidelines for our interaction with anyone, children inclusive. As for question 1: I laughed like crazy when I got tickled then 'tickle revenge' was the name of the game.

I was reclining in a louger when my son-in-law provoked my grandson to come tickle me. I would never have conisidered it anything but playing with my grandkid.

To me, tickling is like kissing. It means different things depending on the persons and circumstances involved.

Tickling is really a contextual thing. Considering how tired I am, the best example I can think of right now is nudity.

I'm not married, and of course I don't have kids, so this is all assumption; however, I'd be willing to venture that fairly often nudity between spouses is at least partially sexual in nature. Initially, at least, nudity is directly associated with sex and for many is key to sexual arousal. But parents will quite frequently undress their children without the slightest sexual feeling whatsoever, hopefully. Heterosexual guys will sometimes out of necessity shower together or in close proximity to each other and I can assure you from personal experience there is nothing remotely sexual about that.

Tickling between parent and child shouldn't be sexual; it should be purely in good fun. However, it is getting close to crossing that line for some tickling fetishists, so I suppose they should figure it out for themselves. If it does cause sexual arousal, then the parent should not only stop the tickling but seek counseling immediately. There are bigger problems at hand.

Hey goodieluver, that animation (where Bruce Lee strikes at that guy), was taken from "Enter The Dragon", isn't it?. I know that this's out of topic, but i'm a fan of Bruce Lee and i'd like to know that info.

Yup, and he's in the process of killin the guy who forced i believe his sister to commit hari kari

I agree with pretty much everyone. Tickling your children is a cute and funny thing to do. I mean, how many parents you know that havent tickled there children? i dont believe tickling was ment to be a sexual thing between two people, i think it was ment as a means of tourture! Sorry, anyway, i believe it was ment as a fun thing to do between people. Its a social thing and a fun family thing. Example, my little sister is tickled often by my brother while she does things that tickling would mess up, like playing piano and trying to open something. It really is a funny thing to see. I not married, nor do i think i wever will be, cause thats my life, but hell, if i can tickle, then lfie is good, right?
