A bit of additional. He was the first to "fly" tetherless - he wasn't attached to the space station. So, if the thrusters screwed up, he could have been sent....who knows where? Did they have a back-up plan to try to rescue him? Sounds like the ultimate video game, but without the video - it was real-life. Gotta give these guys (and gals) kudos for what they risk in pushing us out there.
