Oh, and let's not forget racist...but we'll get to that....

Since they've trotted out everybody from the Bush administration (except Bush, that is...) to claim responsibility for killing Osama bin Laden and having that fall on deaf ears (by everyone except the birther crowd), it seems they're falling back on their classic ways of finding thinly-veiled racist ways of attacking the President. And, much like the "it was because of US" bullshit, it's steeped in steaming piles of self-contradiction. (Like Donald Rumsfeld coming out on Monday saying intelligence was gathered, but it most definitely was NOT from extreme interrogation...then going on the same show the following Wednesday and saying intelligence came directly from the very waterboarding he said never happened...well, at first...then it did...but it was useful...but it wasn't before...but now it was....)

No friends...this time we need to go after the First Lady's choice of guests at a poetry reading. The rapper/poet "Common" attended and did a (very deep and touching) piece and this has Fake News in an absolute uproar. Now, this is to be expected, given that Fake News' mandate is "everything associated with the black president is wrong"...but on this one the self-contradiction is appalling even for the toilet scum over there.

First off...here's what they're pissed about. A single line from a song from 2005, taken out of context. It mentions violence. BUT...the song IN CONTEXT later says that it's that violence that must be avoided. There is NOTHING else in Common's body of work you could look to.

Second (and on)...here's where the hypocrisy starts. Fucked News themselves honored Common not six months ago for being "an inspiration" to rap music for his "positive messages". No really...they did.

But, since he has anything to do with Obama now, and the right is doing everything in their power to turn attention away from the fact that this president is actually doing things...Hannity throws a shit-fit. All the while...lying profusely. Let's even leave out the purposeful misinterpretation of a lyric. He says that no one with violent lyrics about gun violence, etc. should be "within 50 feet of the President"....except that George W. Bush honored and shook hands at the White House with Johnny Cash while they were playing one of his songs about how he "shot a man to watch him die". The same Johnny Cash who wrote about putting a second bullet in a woman because the first one didn't do the trick. But...Johnny Cash is white and country...so he's ok.

They also (after Hannity goes off at the mouth about violence against the police) wished a public and very happy birthday to one Ice-T...author of "Cop Killer". He's a friend of Fox, apparently. And let's not forget when George H. W. Bush invited Eazy-E to the White House while Eazy was telling people he "couldn't be a fucking Republican 'cuz I got a song called Fuck Da Police". But, this was a Bush...so that was okey-dokey.

But here's where it gets really scuzzy. Hannity went off to his guests making the complete bullshit statement that "if there were threatening comments about Obama, I'd have the same complaint." (Of course, he's talking about a line from a Common song that was critical of Bush...not a threat, just critical.) Well...every single news organization that's actually real was very quick to show the clip of Hannity himself supporting violence against Obama by proxy of one of his rock idols...

During the campaign of '08, a clip was shown on Hannity where everyone's favorite redneck-douchebag-racist-has-been-rockstar Ted Nugent carried an assault rifle onstage to one of his shows. Ted's taunting the audience to cheer for his ranting remarks of "I'll tell that son of a bitch Obama to suck on the end of THIS!!!" and "Hillary can get to know the business end of THIS, that bitch!" One of the two guests on that show asked if Hannity was prepared to condemn that behavior and those remarks.

Hannity could not cut the guy off fast enough to say, and I quote..."Hell no! Ted's a good friend of mine!!!"

So much for being an actual human being. ANd while Hannity was the biggest of the toilet scum crowd at Fox, they all jumped on it. And those of us with more than 12 active brain cells knew this for what it was. A distraction and a racist one at that. Fox got completely behind the whole birther thing (otherwise known as "He Can't Be American Because He's Brown") and now has an issue with a....*gasp*...rapper going to the White House. And to top it all off...to close the book on Hannity being a redneck racist (regardless of how pretty he is in his little suit and 1950's haircut)...he actually even comes close to yelling at his guest that this is Obama "going back to his radical roots again and again and again..."

What roots are those, Mr. Hannity? The Harvard education? The high school basketball team? (At least they left it to Trump to make that remark, the "Obama could get things done if he'd get off the basketball court" comment. Yes, Trump said it...but he's their guy and everyone EXCEPT Fox condemned it as racist.) So, exactly what "radical roots" are we talking about, Hannity?

Oh yeah. Not his roots...his "Roots". Those ones...

Hannity is racist slime.

I've never regarded them as a legitimate news outlet. They are first and foremost the propaganda arm of the GOP. I agree, they are a joke.

This needs to go on the TMF as well, if it isn't already on there. I'm excited to see with the GOP lap dogs will say to justify this; or, more likely, say about Obama in an attempt to stray from the topic.

Faux News is biased and racist to a disgusting degree. Why are they still on the air?

I believe Boz Scaggs said it best when he said...

Lido missed the boat
That day he left the shack
But that was all he missed
And he ain't comin' back

At a Tombstone bar
In a juke-joint car he made a stop
Just long enough
To grab a handle off the top

Next stop Chi-town, Lido put the money down, let her roll
He said, "One more job oughta get it
One last shot 'fore we quit it
One for the road"

Lido, whoa oh, oh, oh
He's for the money, he's for the show
Lido's a waitin' for the go

Lido, whoa oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
He said, "One more job oughta get it
One last shot 'fore we quit it
One more for the road"

Lido be runnin',
Havin' great big fun 'til he got the note
Sayin', 'Toe the line or blow'
And that was all she wrote

He be makin' like a beeline
Headin' for the borderline, goin' for broke
Sayin', "One more hit oughta do it
This joint, ain't nothin' to it
One more for the road"

Lido, whoa oh, oh, oh
He's for the money, he's for the show
Lido's a waitin' for the go

Lido, whoa oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
One more job oughta get it
One last shot, and we quit it
One more for the road

Lido, whoa oh, oh, oh
He's for the money, he's for the show
Lido's a waitin' for the go
Lido, whoa oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

They are not a liberal, left-leaning outlet like MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC that is for sure. They are not part of the Obama cheering section like the above mentioned that is for sure. They are not part of the "State Run" media that is for sure!

Yeah, it should...but I'm not wasting my time. I tried getting involved in intelligent political discussions over there, but it doesn't exist. It used to, back when the board was actually moderated, but the racist homophobes pretty much rule that place now. I never thought I'd see the day when even our tickling forums became "one left, one right". The sheer amount of racist, homophobic vitriol over there is something I just can't be involved with anymore. Not saying the TMF supports it...but they sure as hell aren't doing anything about reeling it in, which they used to do.

What really astounds me is that that level of bible-thumping, racist propaganda repeating happens on a message board that is supposed to be about sexual freedoms in the face of what society says is "normal". To say "I want my freedom to pursue fantasies about bondage, kidnapping and sexual torture" in one breath and then say "The bible says homosexuality is evil" in the other is the singular most hypocritical line of reasoning I have ever heard, considering the source.

It's not even fun to debate them, you never get a different answer. Just a rehash of whatever Hannity, Beck or O'Reilly said that day. I'd rather have political discussions with people who know what they are talking about and can understand the difference between opinion and fact...even if they disagree with me. Disagreement I can have fun debating. Zealot-level pre-determined hatred...I can't even stomach it. It's a waste of my time.

Yeah Dave you are one of the most intelligent people on the planet, no doubt! AND anyone that disagrees with your political views is a bible thumping, racist, neo-con, homophobe, well-said!... Thanks for being you!

The state doesn't run any media. And MSNBC has run many, many stories critical of the Obama administration. I don't want anyone fully supporting ANYONE...but at least the other networks will show those little things called "facts" to run their stories on. As to your post, desk...don't try and derail my threads with your crap. You're just showing yourself as utterly clueless. If you have something to say on the topic, go right ahead. If you want to spout things that have nothing to do with the topics...the TMF has a whole Politics and Religion forum where you'll find plenty of friends. This isn't a thread about what news channel is best...this is a thread about what one news channel did...backed up with the FACTS about what actually HAPPENED.

As to the actual topic of this thread before the predictable attempt at derailing the story itself (must be that Fox influence)...

...the only story in the news today about Common's appearance...is Fox's handling of it and utter backtracking on their own previous statements. The story itself has only been furthered by Fox..who managed to get another day's coverage out of it. Even to the point of contradicting what they said yesterday when called out on it.

Here's where Fox has a problem. For some reason, they are completely out of touch with the fact that in this day and age...your previous comments on a subject are RECORDED. They never seem to get that when the hosts and guests contradict things they said ON TAPE less than 48 hours previously. Happens on a weekly basis. Like it did with this non-story intended to nothing more than race-bait.

If you have an issue, take it up with me in PM. Of course, you won't get the required attention from it...but you're welcome to anyway. And for the record...while I thank you for the nod to my intelligence, anyone is more than free to disagree with me. When I call someone bible-thumping, a racist or a homophobe is when they say things that are bible-thumping, racist or homophobic. And in those cases, I'll call them out every single time and sleep like a baby. If someone disagrees with me and has a good reason to their argument without bringing those qualities to the table...I'm all for it.

Somehow, I don't see you as being one of those. But again...my PM box is open if you want a no-attention debate on this. In public and in this thread that has nothing to do with it...I am done with you. Have a nice day.

Honestly, I'd prefer political discussions for sites other than this one. I have to deal with it enough in life, I'd rather avoid it on these forums. It breeds anger and malice, whether intended or otherwise. If it's going to exist, so be it, but it just seems like a silly place to make a political statement. No offence intended, of course.

There's nothing quite as thrilling as being able to talk down to someone who I'm sure is at least twice my age. Thank you for allowing me the experience.
If the majority of the planet mimics your thought process, then I would have no problem calling him one of the most intelligent.

Its funny, I left. The TMF to avoid this kind of banter. I have a suspicion the admins there created the P&R forums specifically to herd this talk away from the forum so they didn't have to actually moderate it. And does anyone really blame them? To moderate a post, you can't just gloss over it, you have to actually listen and analyze the context so you don't just pick on someone. Meaning you deal with total idiots on a basis of respect on a daily basis. Of course they're going to give up on it.

Honestly, there are so many damn communities online for this kind of thing, that it kind of pains me to see otherwise good people who used to be so into the tickling aspect of these forums fall to the wayside. I miss reading your stories Dave, and your radio show... and so many people just get wrapped up in these troll bait debates that are so venemous. Im glad TT hasn't up and decided just to corral you into a subforum somewhere, I love TT for what it is, and for everything that it isn't like when compared to that other forum.

I suspect that it doesn't have a subforum of it's own(or isn't bannable, entirely) because it isn't discussed on a day-to-day basis. Very rarely do these threads show up on TT as opposed to the TMF, so the mods haven't had to take any drastic measures yet.

This is actually a good discussion...the discussion of such things.

(First quick note...thanks to Purple for showing me I wasn't the only one who knows exactly who "desk" is and how he's destroyed what used to be a pretty decent subforum. You simply can't repeat the EXACT same sentence thrown at me n the other forum, use the exact same third-grade grasp of sentence structure and not have it known who you are. I blocked him over there, and I've blocked him here. I suggest you do the same.)

Ok, seriously...there's been about five minutes since I wrote that last, and upon reflection I think I'll start another thread on what I was going to say. I wouldn't want to be a hypocrite and hijack my own thread. So, see new thread....

Fox News is like a fucking fungus. No matter how hard you try and stamp it out, it always comes back. It growing people. Oh yes. It's the FUCKING BLOB!
