Oh, and let's not forget racist...but we'll get to that....
Since they've trotted out everybody from the Bush administration (except Bush, that is...) to claim responsibility for killing Osama bin Laden and having that fall on deaf ears (by everyone except the birther crowd), it seems they're falling back on their classic ways of finding thinly-veiled racist ways of attacking the President. And, much like the "it was because of US" bullshit, it's steeped in steaming piles of self-contradiction. (Like Donald Rumsfeld coming out on Monday saying intelligence was gathered, but it most definitely was NOT from extreme interrogation...then going on the same show the following Wednesday and saying intelligence came directly from the very waterboarding he said never happened...well, at first...then it did...but it was useful...but it wasn't before...but now it was....)
No friends...this time we need to go after the First Lady's choice of guests at a poetry reading. The rapper/poet "Common" attended and did a (very deep and touching) piece and this has Fake News in an absolute uproar. Now, this is to be expected, given that Fake News' mandate is "everything associated with the black president is wrong"...but on this one the self-contradiction is appalling even for the toilet scum over there.
First off...here's what they're pissed about. A single line from a song from 2005, taken out of context. It mentions violence. BUT...the song IN CONTEXT later says that it's that violence that must be avoided. There is NOTHING else in Common's body of work you could look to.
Second (and on)...here's where the hypocrisy starts. Fucked News themselves honored Common not six months ago for being "an inspiration" to rap music for his "positive messages". No really...they did.
But, since he has anything to do with Obama now, and the right is doing everything in their power to turn attention away from the fact that this president is actually doing things...Hannity throws a shit-fit. All the while...lying profusely. Let's even leave out the purposeful misinterpretation of a lyric. He says that no one with violent lyrics about gun violence, etc. should be "within 50 feet of the President"....except that George W. Bush honored and shook hands at the White House with Johnny Cash while they were playing one of his songs about how he "shot a man to watch him die". The same Johnny Cash who wrote about putting a second bullet in a woman because the first one didn't do the trick. But...Johnny Cash is white and country...so he's ok.
They also (after Hannity goes off at the mouth about violence against the police) wished a public and very happy birthday to one Ice-T...author of "Cop Killer". He's a friend of Fox, apparently. And let's not forget when George H. W. Bush invited Eazy-E to the White House while Eazy was telling people he "couldn't be a fucking Republican 'cuz I got a song called Fuck Da Police". But, this was a Bush...so that was okey-dokey.
But here's where it gets really scuzzy. Hannity went off to his guests making the complete bullshit statement that "if there were threatening comments about Obama, I'd have the same complaint." (Of course, he's talking about a line from a Common song that was critical of Bush...not a threat, just critical.) Well...every single news organization that's actually real was very quick to show the clip of Hannity himself supporting violence against Obama by proxy of one of his rock idols...
During the campaign of '08, a clip was shown on Hannity where everyone's favorite redneck-douchebag-racist-has-been-rockstar Ted Nugent carried an assault rifle onstage to one of his shows. Ted's taunting the audience to cheer for his ranting remarks of "I'll tell that son of a bitch Obama to suck on the end of THIS!!!" and "Hillary can get to know the business end of THIS, that bitch!" One of the two guests on that show asked if Hannity was prepared to condemn that behavior and those remarks.
Hannity could not cut the guy off fast enough to say, and I quote..."Hell no! Ted's a good friend of mine!!!"
So much for being an actual human being. ANd while Hannity was the biggest of the toilet scum crowd at Fox, they all jumped on it. And those of us with more than 12 active brain cells knew this for what it was. A distraction and a racist one at that. Fox got completely behind the whole birther thing (otherwise known as "He Can't Be American Because He's Brown") and now has an issue with a....*gasp*...rapper going to the White House. And to top it all off...to close the book on Hannity being a redneck racist (regardless of how pretty he is in his little suit and 1950's haircut)...he actually even comes close to yelling at his guest that this is Obama "going back to his radical roots again and again and again..."
What roots are those, Mr. Hannity? The Harvard education? The high school basketball team? (At least they left it to Trump to make that remark, the "Obama could get things done if he'd get off the basketball court" comment. Yes, Trump said it...but he's their guy and everyone EXCEPT Fox condemned it as racist.) So, exactly what "radical roots" are we talking about, Hannity?
Oh yeah. Not his roots...his "Roots". Those ones...
Hannity is racist slime.
