Antonio Cromartie is a dumbass.

NY Jets give CB Antonio Cromartie $500,000 in up-front money, report says

With seven children by six different women in five states and at least five paternity suits in the past two years, new Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie needs cash.

The Jets have stepped up, giving Cromartie $500,000 in up-front money on the final year of a contract that'll pay him $1.7 million in 2010, according to the NFL Network.

During a conference call with beat reporters on Friday, Cromartie spoke of how he had to clear up his paternity issues before he can report to the start of the offseason program on March 22. He has a court date in California later this month.

Also on Friday, GM Mike Tannenbaum vowed to be supportive of Cromartie and said the player had ``some work to do'' before he can come East.

Cromartie needs the ready cash because NFL players don't begin collecting their salaries until the first week of the season and it would take a while for Cromatie to come up with that kind of money.

Then again, Cromartie signed a five-year, $12 million contract as a rookie in 2006. Apparently, most, if not all, of that money is gone.

Some real big moves early on. Obviously, I'm ecstatic about Boldin coming to the Ravens. I hope they don't stop there as it comes to revamping the offense.

Just heard on the radio a few minutes ago that WR Derrick Mason may be close to resigning with the Ravens. If so, all of a sudden, Baltimore's receiving corps looks deeper than it has in years with Mason, Boldin, Stallworth and Clayton as the top 4.

Plus Heap and it's quite certain they'll draft TE Gresham from OU.

And LaDainian Tomlinson is going to visit the Vikings. An LT/AP backfield would be sick.

Hehe, one RB with fumblitis and another who's either injured or chokes in the big moment.

Ooh, I'm scared! :jester:

But more realistically, yes, if AP returns to form then the Vikes have (one of) the inside track(s) to the SB.
