The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip. After starting out well by winning two of three in Pittsburgh, things went very sour, as they dropped the next six games, and were swept in three game series, in both Chicago, and St Louis. The team limped home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, the following evening, against the teams from California.

After seemingly making progress during the last homestand, Mitch and Naomi's situation took a severe turn for the worst, while he was on the road trip. They had several vicious fights on the computer, and Naomi once again inserted a "timetable", for Mitch to either "Fix everything" to her satisfaction, or she would bid him goodbye for good. Mitch went from feeling hopeful about his situation with Naomi, to having a very bleak outlook. Clearly, he never seemed to know which end was up with his marriage.

Before the Good Guys finished their road trip, a new face was added to the team. 21 year old Ellen Page, the team's top closer at their Freeport Triple AAA farm team, was called up from the minors by the Paradise Islanders, to provide a stabilizing arm in the bullpen. Page, who had a lightning arm, with a fastball that reached ninety seven miles per hour, would have the distinction of being the most petite pitcher in Good Guys history, at only five feet, one inch tall. Page's first appearance with the team, came duing the second to last day of the road trip, as she was brought into a tie game in St Louis, a game the Good Guys ended up losing, due to an error. Predictably, as Ellen entered from the bullpen, the Cardinal P.A. system taunted her, by playing the Randy Newman song: "Short People". After the game, Ellen spoke to the media. "I'm sorry that I ended up losing my first game here. Hopefully, it was just one game, and I will end up helping to win many others. Oh, and how nice of the Cardinals to play "Short People", as I come in from the bullpen. Very classy. Very original. Like I've never heard that before. Since each pitcher gets to pick their own music to warm up to, maybe when we get home to Paradise, I should tell the P.A. people to play it every time I come in. Being petite doesnt bother me. I have a solid acting career, and I can get batters out. When you have those things, who needs to be tall" Ellen said, cutting off the interview.

When the Good Guys arrived home from the road trip, on Sunday night, Mitch knew he was headed for extreme trouble. As he opened the door to the apartment, Naomi entered the hallway from the couple's bedroom, and began screaming in his face: "So what now? We have a great homestand last time, and now we're back to this? Should I just fucking divorce you now, and not give you any more time, to try and make this right!" Naomi ranted. Mitch tried to be calm :" No, Naomi, I dont want you to divorce me now. I want this to be right between us" He replied. "Yeah, well you have a wall to climb, Mister. A wall that is high, and that is going to be difficult to scale. A little while more like this, and I will dump you. I'm fucking tired of you and your rollercoaster. We have a good homestand, and then you fucking break everything. No more, okay? You are pushing me into doing something I dont want to do, but that I will do, if you continue this. If I dont see some real progress, you are gone!" Naomi said, and marched out of the room.

The next night, with a black cloud hanging over Mitch and Naomi's marriage, the Good Guys opened their nine game homestand, against the California teams, with a game against the Giants. Gil Bellows pitched, and allowed two runs in eight innings. The Good Guys broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth, with a run, and then, in the ninth, with the Paradise Islanders having the lead, Ellen came in from the bullpen, and "Short People" was playing over the P.A. system. The crowd looked puzzled, thinking it was a taunt to Ellen, who proceeded to yell to the crowd in the front row: "It's not an insult. I wanted them to play it. If I do my job, I dont care if people say I'm short". Page, subsequently, ended up doing her job, and saving the Good Guys 3-2 win. The next night, Charlize Theron permitted four runs, and lost, 4-0. Neve Campbell gave up five runs on Wednesday night, but the Good Guys bats were booming, as they broke a 5-5 seventh inning tie, with four runs, for what would be a 9-6 victory, again saved by Ellen.

Thursday was an off day. Naomi had said nothing to Mitch during the homestand thus far, and that morning merely said : "I cancelled the counesling appointment. No sense in going. You do whatever today. I dont care". "So that's it? We've given up? You've given up?" Mitch asked. "I havent anything, Mitchell. I cant run a one person marriage. You just want this relationship to run on cruise control for you. It doesnt work that way. We are headed for very bad things, and for a break. I need you to show me you dont want that. If not, I dont know what to say" Naomi said. "How do I show you? What do I do?" Mitch asked. "You know what has to be done, Mitchell. You need to show me that everything and everyone else isnt more important to you than me, and that I'm more than just your foot worship, and ladder girl. What would you say if I told you I didnt want to do those things for you anymore, ever? Would you not love me anymore, and want to leave me?" Naomi asked. "I'd probably try to get them from Cathy, and I'd be very disappointed" Mitch said. "I'm sorry if that would disappoint you, Mitchell, but you've disappointed me, many, many times in nearly a quarter century. I think I can disappoint you from time to time" Naomi said, exiting the room.

San Diego came to town on Friday night. Rachel Leigh Cook got hammered that night, allowing seven runs, in a 7-3 defeat. Hayden pitched on Saturday night, and allowed only two unearned runs, but the Good Guys hardly hit that night, and lost, 2-1. Gil Bellows opposed Padres ace Jake Peavy on Sunday, a sunny, humid, 88 degree afternoon, in front of about 30,000 folks. As usual when those two aces hooked up, the game was a masterpiece, as both pitchers fired nine shutout innings each. The game was finally decided in the tenth, on an Ed Burns solo homer, as the Good Guys prevailed, 1-0.

The Dodgers entered Paradise on Monday, for the homestand's final series. Charlize Theron pitched on Monday night. Charlize gave up only run in six innings, as Paradise broke a 1-1 tie with three runs, and cruised to a 4-1 win. Neve Campbell had the ball on Tuesday night, and got lit up, allowing ten runs in five innings, of a 10-6 defeat. Rachel Leigh Cook took the mound on Wednesday afternoon, a sunny, breezy, 85 degree day, before a crowd of about 28,000. Cook shut the Dodgers out for six innings, striking out nine, as the Good Guys scored two runs in the eighth. Ellen Page had some trouble in the ninth, giving up a run, and allowing men on base, but getting out of the trouble, to save the Good Guys 2-1 win, that completed a subpar, but winning, five and four homestand. Page was turning out to be a solid addition to the team, and, as the Good Guys prepared to travel to California the next night, it seemed that they had found their bullpen ace.

In the meantime, the team held its Saturday tickle party, following the loss to the Padres. The featured lee, would be, not surprisingly, Ellen Page, who needed to recieve her tickle initation as a Good Guy teammmate. Ellen was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, in a bra and panties. Page, who could have a bit of a sarcastic personality, taunted her teammates: "Come and get me, tickle vultures. If I'm not afraid of two hundred and fifty pound home run hitters, I wont be afraid of a little tickling amongst friends". The "Tickle Vultures" described by Ellen, began their tickle of their new teammate, with Center Fielder Burns commencing the tickle on Ellen's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles began:HEHHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEE! Working down, second baseman Russell was next, tickling Ellen on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, counting her ribs, as she erupted in different octaves of laughter: HEHEHEHEHAHAHAHEHEHEHEAHEEHEHEHEHEHE! NOOEEEOOO! Moving down, pitcher Gil Bellows was the next ler, attacking Ellen on her hips, inner thighs, and knees, as her legs bucked:HEHHEHEHAHAHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEE! Finally, Mitch and Katherine Heigl positioned themselves at Ellen's feet: "Mitchell, what is a girl doing here? I thought I'm only supposed to be tickled by guys. Did you grow a penis that I didnt know about in the last three minutes, Heigl?" Ellen asked. "Katie is my very good friend, and.. five feet nine inches tall. The tallest girl pitcher on the Good Guys, unlike someone I know. She is here to help me tickle the shit out of you, so what do you think of that, Page?" Mitch taunted. Ellen shook her head in resignation: "Fine, whatever, have the girl give it to me. See if I care" "You're a smart ass bitch, Ellen, but, if you can help this team, that's all that matters, now shut up, and laugh, while Mitch and I tickle the fucking shit out of you!" Katherine Heigl taunted.
With that, Mitch and Katherine Heigl tickled Ellen's bare feet with a double barrel tickle attack of fingers, feathers, and electric toothbrushes, over her bare feet and toes. Ellen went berserk, wiggling her toes wildly, and squealing with laughter:HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEE! OMFG! OKAY! OKAY! ENOUGH DOUBLE BARREL TICKLE ATTACK! NOOOOOOO! HEHEHEHHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEE! Finally, the tickle ended, and the exhausted Ellen was untied.

On Thursday afternoon, Mitch was packed to leave on the road trip to California. "Any decision about me?" He asked. "You think this is funny, Mitchell? You want me to call a divorce lawyer right now!" Naomi snapped. "No, I dont. I want to work this out. Can you promise me you wont do anything, while I'm gone?" Mitch asked. "Yeah, I promise, but you need to promise me you will do everything in your power to make this better. If you dont, you will give me no other choice" Naomi said. Mitch nodded, picked up his case, and said. "I'll see you next week", heading out the door to his cab, and the ride to the airport, for the flight to San Francisco.

So, it had been a homestand highlighted by a new teammate, subpar play on field, and major trouble off field. Now came a ten day California road trip. Would Mitch and Naomi be able to survive their latest crisis? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

Good story Mitchell. BTW could you maybe post the roster of the Good Guys?

I know that's only fifteen players, and most teams have twenty four or twenty five, but to tell you the truth, I havent thought of a full twenty five man roster, just the main players.

Well just as it seemed that things were finally starting to work themselves out it's back to problems for Mitch and Naomi. It almost hardly seems fair for the two of them to stay together at this point. Perhaps with the new closer things will get better for the Good Guys at least. Another great one and I look forward to the next one.

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated as always. Yes, things are looking very bleak for the couple. It remains to be seen as to whether they can get a "Last minute save". (No pun intended).

As you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon, likely later today.

Mitch
