FYI - Recent Highway Truck Spills

A few mishaps you might find interesting:

In April two tractor-trailers full of honeybees overtunred, spilling 80 million of the little buggers on Interstate 95 near Titusville, Fla. In June another load of 500 beehives, each hive containing thousands of bees, spilled on Interstate 435 near Claycomo, Mo. Most of the bees were recovered by using smoke to put them temporarily to sleep.

Also in June a trailer full of toilet bowls became unhooked and overturned on Interstate 88 near Colesville, New York.

I guess June was kind of a bad month for truck transport. That same month a trailer full of compressed paper and sex toys, including whips, plastic breasts and blow-up dolls, spilled onto the northbound M6 highway near Castle Bromwich, England.

Hmmm....I wonder how many passers by were tempted to "help" with the pickup from that one! 😉

A milk truck flips and bursts open, spilling it's fresh load into the street. It took fire crews a week of hosing the area repeatedly to get the sour milk smell out of there. But, the area cats loved it.

Another tanker carrying molasses dumped it's load after a multi car accident. That one actually took front end loaders to scrape the excess before the rest could be cleared with fire hoses.

Just the other day, a load of pigs flipped. The driver was seriously injured and several of the pigs lost.

There have been plenty of others as well.
