We won't be making traveling plans this year. You're all welcome to NY but don't plan on us being gracious hosts

congrats.. my steelers didnt get the number one seed.. which actually i was all for because in the afc divisional round id rather run into the colts than the ravens

Considering that Blitzburgh has choked everytime they've had the #1 seed in the last 15+ years, I'm glad we didn't get the top spot.

Plus now we've got a loss out of the way (with the putrid Browns on deck) and motivation to exact revenge on the Titans much like we did in 05 after losing to the Colts on Monday night.

Steelers will take care of Business when it matters---AFC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

As for the Gints...

They are SOOOO lucky.

Sweet Carolina BLEW that game in MANY ways.

Look forward to seeing the G-men in the playoffs. They're good, but they're clearly tired/hurting.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if NY didn't even make it to the NFC Championship. Other than Arizona, every team who makes the playoffs in the NFC can beat NY at home. No doubt about it.

LUCKY MY ASS,

They won because they were able to run the ball. 315 total rushing yards is no accident. Plus getting McKenzie at right tackle back was huge. Kevin Booth couldn't block anything more than a non moving silo.

D'Angelo Williams had a huge game, but the Giants did a good job on defense also.

Congrats on your #1 seed, giantfan.

Hopefully, your Giants and my Steelers will be meeting on Super Bowl Sunday in '09. That should make things in NY VERY entertaining.

DeAngelo demolished them.

Panthers held an 8 point lead for most of the 2nd half (and an 11 pt lead early)

Steve Smith dropped that wide open pass on the potential GW drive in the 4th, which would have shortened the FG 10 yards EASY.

Kasay shanked the GW FG.

Gints played well, but escaped with that W.

Much like last years NFC Championship vs the Pack.

Thank you, Slacker.

I agree with you about the Giants and the Steelers being an entertaining super bowl. Pittsburgh is not really a team I'd look forward to playing b/c their D matches up VERY WELL against the run.

I think I missed the pass to Smith. All I saw was him attempt a 50 yard field goal, which is tough under any circumstances, when you factor in the wind, it makes it that much more challenging. You have to give them credit for their running game. Derrick Ward went crazy, and the offensive line did their job in blocking. I like the way Manning utilized his tight end. I am a firm believer that a tight end is a critical part in any offense, and I believe Boss has a better all aroung game than Shockey because he can block. Their DL put together a good pash rush which also makes a huge difference.

All in all, it was a great game. It was like two heavyweights getting in the ring and slugging it out.

No need to worry about a steelers/ giants bowl. tennesse will take care of that. :headbang:

That it was.

And wasn't it the eve/same day of the 59 'greatest game ever played'?

Looks like you've found a new bandwagon.

You'll jump on Blitzburgh's once they get to Tampa.

DeAngelo had a total of 108 yards rushing. The team total was 158 yards. Derrick Ward had 215 yards on the ground, and the Giants had 301 yards rushing- nearly twice as much as Carolina.

As for last years NFC Championship, the Giants dominated that game. They would have won in regulation if not for the two missed field goals or the phantom holding call on the Ahmad Bradshaw touchdown run.

DeAngelo had a total of 108 yards rushing.

And 4 TD's. (Why couldn't the MoFo do that for me during the fantasy year?!)

The team total was 158 yards. Derrick Ward had 215 yards on the ground, and the Giants had 301 yards rushing- nearly twice as much as Carolina.

And yet they still trailed well into the 4th.

How many FG's did the Pack miss?

And of course the Gints have Favre and his 'gunslinging' to thank.

Not saying the Gints were lucky, just saying they could have easily lost (and arguably should have) vs. the Panthers (this year) or Pack (last year).

They're fast becoming masters of the last-minute victories.
