I was a bit surprised that this hasnt been posted yet, but, while watching the Braves-Brewers game on ESPN last night, I heard that the San Francisco Giants will not be re signing outfielder Barry Bonds for 2008. After the announcement, Bonds stated that he will continue to play, and will continue his career elsewhere.

My guess is that he will probably go to an American League team, and be a designated hitter.

Any thoughts on this development with Bonds?

His lack of mobility in the field now, after many knee surgeries, makes him a liability as an outfielder. DH is about all he's good for now, and there's no reason to believe he would last a full season without going on the disabled list.

Is it too much to hope that he'll be indicted for tax evasion and perjury?

He will be the first DH in baseball history who is not physically fit to play DH every game. What a joke and a shame he is

I don't know if any GM wants Bonds on his/her team. I honestly don't think he will get a job in the bigs, & I really hope he doesn't get one. Kudos to San Francisco for finally having the guts to get rid of him. He won't be in the NL for sure, as he can't play a position anymore.

He's a loser. All of his records should be ignored. If they aint gonna let Pete Rose in for gambling, They shouldn't let bonds in for steroids!
I hope nobody picks him up, then O.J. and him can play golf together.

If tampa had the money, i wouldnt be surprised if they'd get him. He'd be a huge PR\fan draw for some team

I remember watching the game that Hank broke the record and it was huge. Everyone I knew was glued to their TV, and was talking about it the rest of the week. When Barry broke the record, I didn’t even watch the game, or could even care less. I just don’t like Barry, and from what I have noticed nether do a lot of other people out there. Hank was a very popular person and was well loved by the country, and I will never forget Hanks big day. In my mind Hank still has the record, even if the record books say otherwise. Hank didn’t have to bulk up on steroids to hit it out of the park, he used skill.

I just hope that my favorite team, the Seattle Mariners, don’t pick him up as DH.

Mahalo and Aloha, John
