Amazing that they never won a world series with greats like Mays, McCovey, Cepeda, Marichal. The Giants or Texas could win it all next year and then they both could end up being 20 games out by September.

Well, Mays, yes, and the others, no. Willie was there in '54, and was the NL MVP.

Nice sportsmanship Mils. Congratulations to both teams and a great job by the San Francisco Giants on their World Championship. With their pitching, Mils might be an unhappy camper for the next 3 to 6 years.

Willie won in '54 but with NY. Reading a great book now, "Willie Mays, The Life, The Legend" by James S. Hirsch. Aaron and Mays were not big guys and they hit loads of HR's. I remember reading that Mays had such incredibly strong hands that he could catch a fastball barehanded while sitting behind home plate. It's too bad the steroid era tainted many of the old records.

I went to the Parade in SF and it was absolute MADNESS! I had a good time though amongst all the weed smokers and drunks.

How am I gloating? I simply made reference that said sports fans always throw "No Championships" in my face to end all arguments and now that run is over. I'm pretty sure you made that reference as well in our brief history.
