I'm not entirely sure how this would demonstrate one's submission. I think it would be better if they just said they were doing it because they like some saggy old man tittays! Or, the king could just say that he likes his nips licked. Silly!

It imitates what infants do so I guess it indicates that one is to the king as an infant is to its mother.

The infant thing was exactly what I was thinking and the only way I could view it as submissive.
