I'm feeling generous today, and I have...50 gmail invites. So ya know, if anyone wants gmail, I'd be more than happy to give you an invite. If you don't know what gmail is, check it out. It's got some great stuff. One thing everyone can appriciate about gmail is that you get over 2 gigs of space! Let's see you get that for free anywhere else on the net! 😉

thats http://www.gmail.com (for reference)

Anyway. Give me your email here and I'll send you an invite when I see it.

There was this one time this art requester was offering to give me a g-mail account if I would have done that request for him. I wasn't sure at the time whether or not he was making the service seem more desirable than it was. He seemed pretty desperate. It seems lots of folks are going on and on about this g-mail like its a diamond in the ruff, and yet theres people like him and you that have 10 or more invites. So it can't be that exclusive. 😛

Anyways, I guess I'll take one, even though I don't need it. I'm not sure what e-mail address I want to use though.

It's not exclusive 😛
But it's better than the other free email services out there. Anyway.
I'll be needing your email address then.

How does this work though? I don't actually don't get to make my own e-mail name, I have to use an existing one?

No no no, I send you a referral link, and from there you can make a new gmail account. The link can only be used once. So yes, you do get to make your own e-mail name.

When does the referal link expire? Because I may not get to this immediately.

I'm pretty sure it doesnt expire. If it does, there's 49 more where that came from.

I got a g-mail account just to check it out. it seems like a basic free webmail thing only it's got a shload of space. Im not sure what the file attachment limits are though. if it's big then that's a real advantage over places like Lycos and Yahoo.
I got a link to sign up just by doing a Google search...it just pops up randomly under the search results...I think it happens pretty frequently.

Actually I think the attachment size IS huge.
I used to know, I'm not quite sure.

If it doesn't expire, then it to [email protected] please. No rush or anything, I'm in no hurry. I do want to see for myself what the hype is about though. 🙂

All right, I'll take a chance. I'd like to see if gmail is worth the hype. And thanks in advance, Kunoke. 😉 [email protected]

Quite welcome. I'll send you one in a second...

EDIT: Alright, yours is sent, as well as Vlad's.

G-Mail is nice, with a few features the other free services don't offer, like being able to access your mail from a POP3 client like Eudora, the ability to forward your mail to an address of your choice, and automatically saving replies in the same "thread" in your archive folder.

I myself find the space to be a giganic bonus. I mean...come on! 2 gigs? It's free after all! Let's see hotmail top them! 😉
Not that everyone needs 2 gigs, but its great to not have to limit yourself.

By the way...theres still 47 left for anyone else who would like one. 🙂

Well, if for whatever reason I'd need another one I'll be sure to tell you.

Offer still stands by the way. My invites just shot back to 50 again, after I got them down to 45 -_-

Sad. Gmail REALLY can't claim they're exclusive anymore 😛

The size byte limit on the housing of files is considerable. This will have it's uses. Thanks.

Your welcome, seeing as how it's not any trouble, my invites just go back to 50 after a couple weeks. :weird:

I'm not understanding why that is. Why would they give you more for nothing? Unless of course its the obvious answer of promoting the service. But for something that has been called "exclusive" they sure do seem to be wheeling and dealing it around.
