So I went on my second attempt at speed dating last night. It was fun and all but... oh what is speed dating? Not everyone here knows what it is so let me sum up.
Speed dating is a set up where you meet people in a public place. In general you go round robin (various ways) and end up sitting for 5-6 minutes on average with each person at the event. You have just a few minutes to get to know each other.
Got it? Good.
Now the problem is that EVERYONE seems to ask the same general questions so I found it hard to get any idea of what someone is like. Once I talked about my job they seemed all interested. I did not think my job was that interesting but I guess it is different (you can email me if you really want to know).
So I have come up with a punning clan to solve this dilema.
I will have a list of 52 questions. Each question will be cataloged by a card type; ace of hearts, queen of spades, three of diamonds, etc. So the person I am sitting with randomly draws a card and then I ask her the corresponding question.
My idea is that this (for me) shows off my creativity and makes it more fun and enjoyable. It also allows for an easier time asking questions. So what I am going to ask for is suggestions from the peanut gallery. Here are the "rules" of the questions.
1) They must be "G rated" or maybe "PG" questions. I don't want someone drawing a card that asks "How much do you enjoy oral sex?"
2) No offensive questions. "What are your thoughts on abortion?"
3) NO TICKLING questions. Okay I can put my OWN subtle tickling question in, I don't need 20-200 suggestions of "Do you like your feet tickled?" or "How ticklish are you, etc."
4) Questions should be open ended and not yes or no. So asking "Do you like icecream" is bad where "What flavor of icecream do you like?" is better.
5) Questions can be silly too. "What sound do you think purple makes?"
Here are some of mine:
What sound does purple make?
If you could be a character from any book, who would you be?
What smell do you associate most with rain?
What movie did you last see in the theaters?
Name or demonstrate a cool schtick (talent) that is rated G or PG that you can do?
What makes someone unnattractive to you?
When you see a penny on the ground how often will you stop to pick it up?
Once this is done I will post it on my website and give out the URL.
