Great! My two favorite teams playing each other tonight. Well, at least they both suck right now, so either outcome will be good.

What's going on with Ed Hochuli's crew? I think everyone in the stadium could have called that facemask on Bush. I had no interest in the winner of this game so I can objectively say, their seemed to be a few too many flags against the Saints. And they couldn't have made the make-up calls any more obvious: Offensive Pass Interference? Against someone who wasn't even thrown the ball? Twice?

I didn't WATCH the game, but heard it. I thought it was great how every time there was a somewhat suspect call/penalty he would explain it in detail.

One time there was an false start, but he explained it as:

'Since the defender jumped the snap, but did not cross the neutral zone, it is not offsides, but false start. The result of the play is minus five yards for xxx and replay of the down.'

He's so paranoid now that he's forced to explain his every call to a T.

It's so disappointing because he's been one of the best referees over the last few years. Can't say I wouldn't have called Cutler's fumble an incomplete pass myself atleast one out of ten times. Now he'll forever be followed by that call, just like another very good referee, Phil Luckett, and the now infamous "Coin Toss".
