Or one of you guys/gals might do....lol. For some odd reason, I have the hardest time viewing any files with the "rar" extensions, even if the person claims the file was split with Hacha. If it was split with hacha, why don't the files have the .zip extensions...I have figured out how those work already. I have an almost brand new computer, and just moved up from dail-up to cable connection (thank heavens, dial-up is the devil...along with AOL), so I haven't had much trouble DLing stuff. I understand hacha and HJsplit, but Winrar seems a bit more difficult...and its driving me up the wall. I DLed the program, so anytime I DL anything with the RAR extension, the file pics change to look like a stack of books. I doubleclick the first file and the actual WINRAR program window opens up. Then when I attempt to view the "supposed to be assembled clip," all I get is a cruddy text window. I have actually had success with this extension one time, and thats when I changed the first file extension to "EXE" and clicked. Then three RM clips popped up, seeminly out of no where, and I rejoiced 🙂....but since then no luck. I am not computer illerate, and I really appreciate people posting big files with these programs, but I cannot seem to comprehend the obvious simplicity of this WinRar. Can somebody help me please... 😀...I'll be your friend...I swear...you can trust me... (insert winking smiley face here)

If a file has been split with WinRAR but NOT Hacha, you need to ensure that all the parts are in the same folder, then right-click the first .RAR file and choose "extract here." It will automatically reassemble the clip.

If a file has been split with Hacha AND zipped with WinRAR, you need to place all the parts in the same folder, select all of them (CTRL+A) and "extract here." Then, you need to use Hacha to rejoin them by double-clicking the Hacha icon.

There is no good reason for anyone to split a file with Hacha and then zip it with WinRAR because WinRAR has its own file-splitting function, but some people do it anyway 🙂

I hope this is of help,

Ahh...your genius astounds me. Now I can effectively use ALL these confounded programs....until someone introduces another, sigh.

Thats what had me so confused too. I find myself asking Wh...wh...wh...why would somebody do something that? I think its a clever ploy to keep people in the dark about WinRar, lol. They actually probably only did it to confuse simpletons like myself. :weird: Thank you very much for your assistance. If you ever need MY help with anything (opinions, movie reviews, instantaneous downloads and then emailing as attachments), be sure to let me know. 😀 Thanks again.
