Well, it's finally happened. I've decided to say 'FIE!' to my current situation and have applied to return to college for video game design. The first interview has been passed successfully and the second is in two weeks, where my portfolio is due alongside three new pieces based on an assignment given by my interviewer.

My new assignment is three representations of, get this, eggs. My future as a potentially professional artist for a video game software company resides on my ability to graphically represent eggs. You can hear the wheels in my head turning already.

As shellacked as I might have felt for being beaten to the punch, it was really a lack of even the most embryonic of ideas that had me scrambling for cover. In retrospect, I can only say that my brain was fried--and so now I sit, feeling a bit more fertile, attempting to lay out an appropriate benediction to help you crack your next interview. The person in charge will no doubt be hard-boiled, but do not be disheartened by any calcified attitudes you may encounter. Be original and and keep your poach-face on... and it will be ova before you know it. Furthermore... uh... furthermore...

I suspect it's more your ability to represent eggs in some way that imbues them with character while making them recognizable as eggs. Ever play the battle game "Worms"? I bet they said the exact same thing to some artist about worms. I think you would do well to make all 3 as different as possible.
