Going To The Game Saturday-Derek Lowe Is Pitching

This Saturday night, I will be making my annual pilgrimage to Citizens Bank Park in Philly to see the Braves and Phillies play, and I am not happy with who is scheduled to be on the mound for the Braves.

Most fans who follow baseball, are aware of how poorly Derek Lowe has pitched over the last couple of weeks. He got lit up last Tuesday by the Mets in New York, and pitched poorly again yesterday against the Marlins. Well, I just went to the Braves website, and found out that, barring a rainout, Mr Lowe will be on the mound on Saturday night for the Braves.

Last year, when I went to the Braves and Phils, a guy who isnt even in the major leagues anymore, Chuck James, pitched for the Braves, and he was terrible, as the Braves got their asses kicked.

I really hope that Lowe can find himself, and pitch a good game Saturday night. I would have much rather seen Tommy Hanson, Jair Jurrgens, or Javy Vazquez. All the other Braves starting pitchers are pitching very well, except for Lowe, who was supposed to be our "ace". That seems sad to say, for a team that is trying to win a wild card.

Well the joke was on me. I heard a forecast of severe weather last night, so I didnt go to the game. Lowe pitched, and pitched a great game, and the Braves beat up Phillies ace Cliff Lee, who was undefeated with Philly, and Atlanta won 9-1. Too bad I wasnt there.

Oh, well,. hopefully next year.

You should try and get to more Phillies games Mitch. There aren't many things more enjoyable than spending a few hours at Citizens Bank Park. I've had the Sunday season ticket package for many years and never get tired of going to the games. Go Phils!

I've been to several games in Philly, Amish Tickler, and I know its a great park. I went to Braves V Phillies in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008. I hope to get to some games next season if possible.
