Good place to get stocks?

Me and my girlfriend are interested in testing the stocks. Is there a decent pair we could get for cheap, or am I better off buying the wood and making them myself?

Long ago (about 1981) my subbie-ticklee gf, now wife, made us a set of stocks. This simple affair held up for years until finally getting destroyed at a houseparty we had about a year ago.

Since then we've made a new set, plus I made another set using Lee Alure's precut patterns and plans at the class on building stocks at NEST in June 2007.

While there are a few crafters of "dungeon" furniture out there, you'll find that even if they can craft a set of foot/ankle stocks, their prices will be far higher than what you could build your own for.

As a guideline, we once commissioned a hand crafted furniture grade spanking bench. It's a beauty, but it cost us $450 in 1996 dollars!

I'm not an expert on it or anything, but perhaps it could be more economic for a simple set that can be attatched to the foot of the bed? I figure, less wood = less work = cheaper price. x)

But as for a full set, I'm quite curious, myself. Hehe! =P

Oh, and welcome to the TMF, rye and thunder. ^_^

If you find out where to get them, let me know. I'm considering stocks, too.

Wow! 400 dollars is a lot more than I can afford. It probably would be smart to use a bit of elbow grease and get some blueprints off of the web.

Anyways, thank you for the welcoming. I've been here since last year, mainly to browse the pictures and videos. Thunderstruck is new to the whole ticklee game. Let's just say I...took her tickling virginity about a month into our relationship, and we haven't looked back since 😀.

I would just buy some wood from home depot or lowes and build them yourself. I built my own stocks before for my girlfriend and I. I'm not going to lie and say it was easy but it wasn't that hard either. The hardest part was drilling the holes. You will definitely need a drill and a drill bit that can make the holes. The drill bit is circular and you can get different sizes depending on how big you want your holes to be. Now I've seen stocks before that connect to the bed, but I had trouble trying to figure that out so I just made stocks with a stand. I had to make it where I can take it apart because I don't know about you but I don't exactly tell all my friend's/family that I own a pair of stocks, so I need to be able to hide it when I am not using it. Here is a picture of the stocks that I built.

I get my stocks from E-Trade. *giggle*
Oh man, if you weren't strictly a 'Ler, I'd suggest that this was a tickle-punishment worthy reply. Naughty, naughty girl. 🙄

I've been telling myself to build a set of stocks for YEARS, now. But despite having been *almost* ready to begin on a number of occasions, I still have yet to do so. Having a safe place to store them, free of risk of children accidentally discovering them, is high on the list. That, and I'm like the Crown Prince of Procrastinators. But the cost of building your own would be affordable. It's the main reason I haven't broken down and just bought a set from somebody for hundreds of dollars.

I've built probably 3 sets over the last few years. I scrapped all of them...the main problem was there was nobody to put in them!!

The best way to do it is to make them yourself and tailor them to your needs.

I've spent alot of time thinking this over, at home depot, the supplies for a set of just ankle holders and a small base Is around 50/60 dollrs. But the thing I'm having trouble working out is finding a good stability in a small convient pair. For now I have a good Idea that I'm probly going to go with. Picture a piece of wood, alittle smaller than a closet door, flat on the ground with a pair of stocks mounted to it. There would be a loop on top the tie the wrists to. They ould be kneeling, with the feet and wristsbehind them, tied in the stocks. The weight of their body would help stabalize the bottom piece of wood. Hope you can make sense of that. lo

You and I think too much alike. 😀 I saw the title and thought, "The Stock Market"? ...which, incidentally, would be the perfect name for a bondage shop. 🙂

Indeed Cap'n

>> "The Stock Market"? ...which, incidentally, would be the perfect name for a bondage shop.

As a matter of fact, the "Stocks and Bonds" (dungeon) furniture shop , specialized in high quality finely finished bondage apparatus, was in business in Baltimore from about 1993 to 1997.

And the --best-- designed pair of stocks I've ever seen are the ones that Francois of Last Laugh Videos in Quebec has!

Stocks???

My brother built this set for about 60 bucks 10 years ago, and they still work great. Cutting the holes isn't hard, just draw tyour circles, and use a jigsaw to cut iit out. then put foam rubber under whatever material you want to use, and make it comfy, cause if your feet are getting tickled, you tend to jump around alot. Anyways, here's acouple pics of them. i use them myself with my sub girls. and yes, they have been used on ME from my brother. LOL! they work well. especially feet in the outer holes and hands in the inner holes and cuffed together. Hope this helps.

The LOL tickle box

This wasn't too hard to make. The materials are really cheap, but the one thing you do need is a table saw equipped to make dado and groove cuts (like for sliding shelves into a bookshelf). Glad to provide some more info if you might want to go this route.

Every now and then, you see a blueprint or a design for a set of stocks pop up somewhere on the forums. My question is (and this might be a whole new thread), what kind are you looking for? The small little ones, or more of a Tickle Abuse - style bench?

If you find out where to get them, let me know. I'm considering stocks, too.

^ Oh, and this made me pass out for a minute.

I built a small set for about $25. it wont be much more for a larger set. thats providing you have the tools.

simple stocks are two pieces of wood that u put a place to put ankles/wrists,, and a hinge to open and close and probably a way to lock it and maybe some loops for toe restrants...simple basic set of stocks ,go to home depot 20$ depends if u stain/shalack etc....if u wanna make big ones that would take more planning but geez its wood should be able to do it 50-60$ ,, just my two cents lol

Stocks are relatively simple to make...but two important things seem to be frequently forgotten:

A BASE IS NEEDED...AND PADDING.

Adding good quality padding, and a sturdy base to the set-up, will decrease the chance of injury.

Best of luck to you.

building a set is really quite easy i have built a few and you build them better yourself to fit your need i have built a few for some friends of mine and they love them

I happen to be good friends with a carpenter who may be able to make a pair for you, since you're local. Shoot me a PM if you're interested, and we can talk.

I made my own and posted some pics of them and how I did it about a year ago aon here..now if I can figure out how to link back to that comment thread....but here are a couple more pics..and Im by no means a carpenter....basic home tools and some trial and error....but they work great!!!
