I haven't gotten too far into the series; is there anything at all tickling-related in Gor?

I imagine there isn't, and I wouldn't put it down (or pick it up, if you're one who hasn't started reading it and is not otherwise inclined to) based upon whether there is tickling somewhere or not.

I'm just curious.

The (Gor) “series” are almost a piece of bygone history, at least amongst some of us oldster pervy folks. And from time to time from the repetitive story sequences, eventually almost became sort of ‘silly’.

Yet, they spawned their own whole genre of “real-time” Gor society type of folk. We’ll never know, as my wife and I have tended to gravitate toward larger more open and certainly real kinky support groups, the like of which can be found in nearly all urban metro areas in North America.

The Sci-Fi series was ghost written it is said by at least 2 different authors maintaining the nom-de-plume of John Norman. But to many kinky folks they were dark, repetitive, and elemental as to the balance of emotions in real life dom-sub relationships.

And there is ---not--- a bit of tickling in any of them, at all !

otoh.. .. if there are folks who are cross-over kinksters from one style to others, as attracts many of us here, drop a line, we can set you in the right directions.

Nope, there are no Ticklers of Gor. I think that John Norman thought tickling was too lightweight for the firm discipline that he knew in his heart women craved and needed.

If you think I don't care much for Gor, well, I wouldn't tell you to think again. It was interesting, when I was a teenager and had never seen anything at all BDSM-related (aside from mainstream bondage in movies and the like). But I didn't have to get too much older before Norman's sexism and overall limited imagination started to grate on me.

Is this a book series? BDSM fiction mainly?

The only BDSM book I ever read when I was a teen was something called "Topping from Below". Yeah... a little weird. :3

...But it scarred me for life and here I am! 😀 <<<<----

What's Gor about anyways?

lol you are funny...and Redmage wow i didn't realize Gor fiction and stuff like that has been around so long...i found out about Gor a few years ago..hmm Gor takes place on a fictional planet, Ace Riley...there are free men and free women, however most of the women are slaves...a man can have and usually has multiple slaves...he can treat them any way he pleases..he can trade them off...he can even have them killed...there are beautiful slave positions that i learned once..however the Gor type of Master/slave never appealed to me, as i wouldn't want to be one of many slaves..

correct me guys if i'm wrong..there is much more to this than i described..there are various books..and websites..a guy i knew who practiced Gor in real life supposedly that is...led me to a website once but i have since forgotten the name..

I enjoyed the first few books of the series;

but in the later volumes the plotlines were afterthoughts wedged in between masses of poltical speeches disguised as philosophical musings by the characters.

the basic politically incorrect political premise of the series was that no woman can ever be happy unless she is helplessly owned property, while no man can ever be happy unless he owns at least one woman. It got sophomoric after the first few volumes.

In one of the ones I read, there was a VERY brief hint at tickling;
A veteran warrior is instructing a novice that during the sack of a conquered city, the way to tell if a slave girl is shamming at being dead is to scrabble on the soles of her feet or in the hollows behind her knees with clawed fingertips. This, it was alleged, was always sure to make her react unless she was actually dead!

Unfortunately, that was the ONLY mention I ever found in a series that eventually ran to over twenty books, most of which were wastes of good paper.

I've already run into this meandering babble; I'd simply hoped that it might eventually go away. Thanks for the heads up, everyone; I'll switch to something more worthwhile... 🙂

Aight! My bad. ^__^ Let's not forget I'm the noob here. I apologize if I was digging up ancient dirt.

I just walked into an old topic it seems. Still got alot to learn... to be honest, about this sort of thing.

Sometimes I just want to understand it... but there are other venues of search in this world. Good day to you. 🙂

I own most of the series but have only gotten around to reading 3 of the books. I love it- it's awesome to have a series like this in my opinion- speaking too as a woman. I woulden't want to live on Gor cuz of the monsters and the 24/7 dominaton- but I'd so buy timesharing there. 😎

And I love the older book covers. :smilelove

there may not be any tickling scenarios in the Gor books, but i recently did some research on the topic and found a real Gor fanatic that had made Poser art with the female submission positions as the subject...and 90% were excellent bondage/tickling positions. though i doubt that was the desired result, that was how i saw it.
