Got my AA!

This whole semester has been crazy. I took 5 courses so that I could finish up my AA, Associate of Arts degree--for those of you who don't know that's a basic degree with all my core requirements. Now when I go to the local university I can go straight into my major, Psychology.

I had one teacher whom I'll call Sherry--Sherry graded me down because of poor handwriting--not my fault. Hand-eye coordination problems come with Spina Bifida.

We were going on a class trip. She said we were going to take a van--I asked if it was wheelchair friendly--she said "No, I guess you'll have to find your own transportation."

When I took this to her super, she lied to her face. I let it pass, angry as hell. She told a few other lies about me trying to skip her class---I'll admit, I did it once or twice, but not at the rate she quoted me at.

She told me, in front of her super, that the only way I could pass her class was if I made 100% on my last portfolio. She gave me 8 out of 20 on my first one ><

This was a 1 hour course IT was gonna keep me from getting my AA???

No wai. I got 100 on it :ayyy: I graduate Tuesday!

:ggrin: :ggrin: Thanks so much!!! Yeah, I have worked my arse off. I've actually started hallucinating spiders and getting the usual sleeplesness in my stress >_< I've had that happen before. But this time it's two days later and I still can't really calm down yet--I hope that's temporary.

As for your bigoted, buttwipe teacher, I hope she ends up in a serious accident which leaves her unable to walk for a few months or so, so that she can experience having a disability. I know, it's a terrible thing to say, but in my humble opinion, the worst kind of bullies are the chickenshits who break on people with disabilities. I've run up against a few of those types myself.

You should speak with this teacher. Tell her that if she doesn't re-evaluate your grade, that you may need to take the issue up with whoever grants licenses to teachers in your state.

Sucks to know your teacher was an ass.
To a certain extent, I can empathize. Though God has blessed me to no ends, I still have TBI (traumatic brain injury), and thus, certain extensions/leniencies need to be available. My first freakin' University course, I end up having an ass psych. professor who has ZIP social skills. Thus, I enjoyed talking to him a LOT about all my questions/confusions, which likely showed a little on my marks.

Thank you guys all so much! :ggrin:! *huggles everybody* As for the teacher, I reported her to her super and to the dean of students, but as Val predicted, it didn't do a whole lotta good. and I'm happy with the D, really. It's like Senshi said:

"I can only pass if I get 100 on the last grade? EAT PERFECT SCORE, BEYATCHES!" :ayyy:

And this lady was the head of the student services team...who deal with the differently abled individuals...🙄 I just don't worry about it. I worked hard and it paid off. Now Senshi and I can get married without me being in school! *waay*

Know what it's like, Karen. Just be glad you never had to take Pharmaceutics I from Dr. Parrot. Hope that teacher hasn't reached tenure yet. Going out of her way to go after you like that reeks of discrimination and should be reflected as so on her record.
