My favorite hobby (besides tickling, of course) used to be traveling through the world. Since this is no longer possible for me (due to heath and financial problems which interact like the crocodiles in TicklingDuo’s logo), I’m restricted to traveling through the Internet.

Well, being a gourmet, I especially love to browse through the menus of the world’s restaurants. It’s a fairly inexpensive way of traveling, and as I’ve tasted many of these cuisines, it’s a non-fattening sentimental journey for my fantasy’s palate. Here are just a few samples (* indicates a restaurant which I’ve actually visited):

French: http://www.coteseine.fr/carte.htm Paris*

English/Scottish http://www.boisdale.uk.com/menus/Rest_menu2.html London*

Cajun: http://www.patoutscajuncabin.com/menu1.html New Orleans

Italian: http://www.hotelambasciatori.com/en/ristorantebar/menu2.asp Rome*

Cantonese: http://licheegarden.citysearch.com/5.html San Francisco*

Indian: http://www.maharajah-restaurant.co.uk/html/menu.htm Cornwall (UK)

Garlic (hmmmm!): http://thestinkingrose.com/sf/sf.htm San Francisco* (They even offer garlic-spiced coffee! Had a wonderful dinner there with SuperTickler, an early TMF member)

Many of my favorite restaurants don’t show their menus on the web, so I chose a few of those who do. I’d really appreciate it if you could tell me the menu webpage of your favorite restaurants! 😎

wow Ayla, that place looks wonderful. I love bed & Breakfast places, I might just have to go there sometime! I have often traveled upstate NY.

now traveling and food, two of my favorite passions in this world (besides tickling). I spent my school years in Culinary Arts and spent 7 of my working years in the Travel Industry. For my honeymoon we went on a cruise around the coast of Europe and then some for 14 days. We stopped in 7 Countries in those 14 days and anywhere we went I made sure to have lunch to sample local cuisine.

We went from Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Eygpt, Israel and then Turkey. What a memory. And very romantic.

Great links, Hal and Ayla! I'd love to sample all of these, but all I can afford right now is fast food. 😀 Perhaps someday I will be able to travel and experience cuisines like these! Thanks for whetting my appetite. 🙂

*droooool* Damn I shouldn't have read that, now I'm hungry. No restaurants open at 3:30 Am lol I guess I can keep eating my popcorn. Sounds great though, I would love to travel the world, for the food alone if nothing else LOL :happyfloa

Patout's....mmmm....lovely place. I've been there a few times. Good choice Hal. You should check it out in person one day!

This is one of my local favorites...http://www.marymahoneys.com

Some great links Hal, thanks! It sure made me drool! Now I am hungry! LOL Also some beautiful places too! Makes me wish I was there now!😛 Tracy

Great links, Ayla and Joby, thanks!

Reading menus is a very efficient anti-depressant for me, but I mustn't read them if dinner was more than 3 hours ago... 😛
