Last night the Dodgers tied a personal record of mine: Largest deficit overcome to win while I was there in the ballpark watching.
The record is 5 runs, first achieved when I was in Shea Stadium and the Dodgers trailed 10-5 after 7 innings but eventually won 12-10.
Last night, the Arizona Dickheads scored 1 run in the first inning and 4 runs in the second inning (via a 2-out grand slam 😱) to lead 5-0.
The score was 5-1 with two outs in the bottom of the 8th inning.
A bases loaded walk to Orlando Hudson made it 5-2. James Loney drove the ball all the way to the wall in right center field for a bases-clearing double, which tied the game at 5-5. After he was advanced to third base via a wild pitch, Casey Blake singled him home to make it 6-5 Dodgers.
Jonathan Broxton got the Dickheads out 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth (striking out two of them) for the save.
