I'm someone who likes movies. Not a film critic or one of those high falutin types who go for the artistic value of a film only. I have seen thousands of films. Wondering if there is any interest in what I think are the best movies of all time and I am interested in knowing what others think are some of the greatest of all time. It's something I've been finally taking the time to work out. I had been just keeping a list of what I liked and would recommend. Then I started on what might be the top 100 according to me (about 400 so far), which lead me to take the original list and just include anything that has ever been worth watching if you really like films and would take the time to watch them.

Ghostbusters (1984)
Bladerunner (1982)
Ben-Hur (1959)
Tron: Legacy (2010)
Marvel's Avengers: Endgame

Sure give recommendations.

It probably takes me 2 years to be sure since looking at this project again gave me 200 more movies I should get around to.

Here is the you must see these in your lifetime for sure list so far (movies in red text if it comes over are where I'm debating about breaking out the series):

Ok so evidently can't just copy and paste from a spreadsheet. Anyone know how to do it without having to retype all that junk? I threw it into Word and then pasted it over.

My top three are The Godfather, which I consider to be possibly the only truly perfect movie. There isn't a single bad performance, false beat, dangling plot thread, or any other error to be found.

Man on Fire (The Denzel Washington one,) which is close in perfection (except for the horrible accent of the woman playing Dakota Fanning's mother.)

and Primer, which is the best time travel movie ever made (a genre I love) and rises far about itself because it was made for seven thousand dollars.

Kurosawa stuff, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Hidden Fortress, Rashoman..

The usual suspects, noir stuff, things with a twist..

Predator, love that film, one that you can disengage your brain!

The Predator series is great! Including the crossover with Alien, think it was my first alien and predator movie.

Nice list!!

All of my top 20 are on there except one. The Joy Luck Club. You should watch it some time. Great, underrated epic of a movie.

Memoirs of a Geisha.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (US/Rooney Mara is my future wife).

Tombstone.

Goodfellas.

All The President's Men.

Casino.

Oh, if you're ever down to explore shit from The Golden Age of Hollywood, I can hook you up. Those are FILM FILMS.

My overall list is now about 1000 films that you could hand someone who's never seen a movie and wants to watch anything that might have been good.
