Well, Mimi....it' looks like we're gonna take a pass on our annual Packers/Vikings rivalry. There's just no point in it this year. The Vikes are bombing (who would have though we'd be talking about Minnesota as a team with all defense and no offense, huh?) and the Packers are doing great.

So, I've decided to just stick with the division and root for the Pack and the Lions this year. Of course, I'm still a Vikings fan and always will be, but I'm also a realist. This team is going to need some rebuilding. And if they start to turn it around, I'm right there, of course.

And, as much as I have a rivalry with Green Bay, I just can't NOT respect Brett Favre. I just love this guy. He represents everything that's good about the NFL. And, we older guys have to stick together....even though it is a bit disheartening to hear sportscasters talk about Favre as an "old man" and "ageing", when he's three years younger than I am!

The Lions look good, too....for a change. I'd love to see them do something this year. If Minny's gonna tank and the Bears were a one-season wonder, then I guess I gotta stick with our division. I'd love to see Brett Favre get one more title before he retires.

It is a bit strange talking about Detroit and Green Bay as on top, and Chicago and Minnesota at the bottom. No one would have thought that at the start of the season, eh?

So....go NFC North!!!

The Cowboys are going to run threw that entire division. They beat the Bears already and Minnesota is next, 10/21. And I hope the Packers can keep it up through the entire season so it will make it even sweeter to beat them.

Well, we'll see. It's easy to say someone will roll over someone else, but another to actually get it done. Any given Sunday, right?

Dallas does look good, though, I'll give you that. I don't like the Cowboys, and I'm not the world's biggest Green Bay fan...but I love the game more than I dislike certain teams. I've never been one of those guys to say "Your team sucks!" just because I don't care for them. (Well, unless your team actually does suck that year!)

The Cowboys have a lot going for them right now, but the season is still young. One key injury or suspension can change everything in the NFL. Just ask Tampa Bay. It's going to be interesting to see how the 'Boys do against a very good defense. (The Bears don't count...it's obvious that defense is not what it usually is, Dallas was not the only team to walk all over Chicago's D.) Minnesota should be a beatable team, but their D is really good, and for some reason, Minnesota always plays Dallas hard. I'm really curious to see the Green Bay and Detroit games...and of course the Pats game. That should be a good test for Romo...who I do like. Best QB they've had since Aikman retired.

Time will tell. But I agree that Dallas should be in the mix come January. As should Green Bay and Detroit. It looks like another weak NFC year, so any teams that are above average should make the playoffs at least. I see Dallas and Green Bay sitting at the top, but anything can happen in the next three months.

Oh Darn

Haven't signed on in a while and thought I'd pop in here to see if Dave and Mimi were doing their Packers/Viking sparring again this year *sigh*

Well, it's nice to see that you two can play nice, too. 🙂

One of the best QB displays I have witnessed was when Farve torched the Raiders D...still shake my head - all the things going on a round him and pulls out surgical display like that...

interesting but...the Packers play thus far shouldn't come much of surprise; they have just started this season how they finished last years...their D last year was very under rated - they have two corners that could of easily been pro bowlers, a solid front 7 and were only a safety away from being a top 10 D.

I can see the playoffs going through Green bay this year
