Clipped this out of an article I stumbled across today....
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Flaxen-haired Gretchen Mol is about to go brunette.
The 31-year-old actress will star in the title role of "The Ballad of Bettie Page," which is currently in pre-production with Killer Films.
"Bettie Page" centers on the life of the most successful pin-up model of the 1950s, whose legendary bondage photographs made her the target of a Senate investigation into pornography, and turned her into one of the first American sex icons. Her trademark jet-black hair and bangs and her unique mix of naughty and nice qualities won a following that continues today.
********************
What interests me about this, besides the fact that we will finally get to see some of the story of Bettie's unusual life and the sub-genre industry she would help launch, is that many of the celebs that were part of the pop-culture world of the '50's and '60's (most notably Buck Henry in a Playboy interview a long time ago) said that there was a LOT of tickling going on behind the scenes of these ground-breaking shoots.
Of course, the chances of any of this being explored or touched upon in this upcoming film are fairly slim...but it IS something to keep an eye on. Just the thought of the gorgeous Gretchen in a mainstream tickling scene...
One can only hope.
