I'm sure some of you remember our quiet little tickling community. As I look around and see all these adds for places to find and buy tickling related things, I can't help but think to myself how our ticklish little town has rapidly become a metropolis of tickling. I would like to hear from other people that have been here for a while (6+ years) and hear their views on the explosion of our online tickling world. What do you think it will be like in another 6+ years. Your likes and dislikes (if any). I know the ongoing rapid growth of population is a high contributing factor. Can you imagine sitting on the bus, wanting so bad to tickle/be tickled by a lady sitting around you, and her thinking the same thing. But you never get it out, and neither does she, and you both walk away disappointed. If only you both would have known that your members of this forum. Sorry to jabber, I'll let you get back to the fun stuff! :rotate:

There are so many of us who were on the TMF during the EZBoard daze (Starting Jan 2000), and before on their own sites and newsgroups-turned-toilets that rarely post anymore...Possibly because the community has grown existentially. Many of them have "Grown Up" and gotten a "Real Life," to which I can attest leaves little time for the community, some became bored or disillusioned with the online community for one reason or another, many have never been comfortable posting/interacting with folks with whom they share a great deal of interest but are "Online" (Oooooh, the unknown terrors of the 'net, you know!), still others just dropped in out of curiosity and rarely return.

As the friendly Octopod pointed out, we have become a little town, complete with businesses, commercials, a Mayor and a Banker, a City Council, a Police Force, countless "Newspaper" (Real-Life Tickling Stories) and TV (Mainstream/Video Clips) reporters, a Saloon/Snack Bar (Chatroom) to hang out and socialize in, a "Post Office" (PM's), a Library (Post Stories), various town meetings (Gatherings), Coffee Shops to discuss almost any topic under the sun, even an education system of sorts, complete with a gaggle of "History Professors" (A title which I proudly boast to! :wiseowl: ).

As with any town, we have problems. Troublemakers, lawbreakers, political corruption, bullies, a generation gap, cheats, drunks, village idiots, philanderers, gangs, social stigmatism and the occasional drive-by shooting...But we also have philosophers, entertainers, elders, healers, teachers, business people, writers, composers, people who want to learn, people who help, people who fall in love, and genuinely nice people.

Like "Real Life," there are alot of nice people here, so don't go out of your way to find the assholes.

Good thread subject, FeatheryOctopi.

Nice Reply!

Very well put TkRexx. :upsidedow I especially like the part about all the things we have that relate to the "real world" as you said. But what fun is the "real world" without tickling. A constant worry about being on time or having enough of something. :Hyrdrogen Instead of just taking a little time to explore and see new things, stopping to smell the roses. I know it is important to be able to provide for those you care about. And honestly I care more for the people at this forum, and all over this community, who have felt similar pains, joys, fears, trials, and :redheart: passions :redheart: due to our similarities. I don't know why tickling has become so opressed in adult society, :shake: maybe because of it's relations to childhood and being childish or not "grown up". But I liked being a child, and it seems like alot of people didn't, or maybe they just had other goals. Whatever the reason I'll stand by this community and hopefully others will follow :dogpile: (the ones that haven't all ready). And to ANYONE with a colored TMF Feather award........

You would never be able to tell by my cheesy 300+ posts that i've been around since the ezboards but it's definately changed. I would often get busy with life and not post or chat at all for several months at a time and be amazed at the progress that myriads and company have made whenever I came back. Not to mention the NEST gatherings (which I have yet to attend *shrugs*) Used to be like a little casual gathering of coffee drinkers, and now it's like a rave party.. Truely amazing.. Well thats my piddely two cents worth.. Lets hear from some 100,000+ post super troopers..

Thanks for the post Lionhart. You're 300 beats me by a long shot. But I'm trying to get up there. I've changed my SN alot but still wouldn't have awhole lot, even if they were tallied. I've never been to NEST either, but have always been very interested in joining. Maybe one of these days.
