I cannot get the gist of the card game Hearts...i've read and re read the rules..but can't seem to get how to play the game right..and inevitably end up in last place every damn time i play against three other computer peeps..grr someone please help explain so that i can understand??

The object of the game is to take all of the hearts and the queen of spades. If you cannot do that then you try to take a few hearts as possible. Also try "sticking" someone with the queen as much as possible.

I've learned this from trial and error..but those three computer subjects i play against can be very tricky at times..not to mention down right cheaters lol.

I find the key to hearts is what you keep and what you throw away. You want to short suit yourself in anything but spades (so you don't eat the queen if someone passes it to you). This way, you can discard high hearts (if you can't run them as parcarl stated) or you don't have to worry about the queen sneaking up on you. The computer guys can be nasty, but I have beaten them. Yeah, I'll keep the QoS if I have enough spades that I think I'll be able to outlast the others, so I can run out of something else quicker.

Exactly right. It takes too much work to get all the heart cards and the QoS (called shooting the moon) so I try to empty a suit and them play my high heart cards.

^If you have a handful of Diamonds, you could be in trouble. Try to keep a duece in every suit to avoid trouble.^

I'm terrible at Poker as I can't remember what every combination would make a hand (as I have a bad memory). All I know how to do is get a straight.
