Have Kobe Bryant join the Pats. His over-inflated ego and overbearing desire for control kills any team chemistry and destroys the team almost overnight. Forget that the Pats have won 3 of the last 4 Super Bowls by playing as a team. Forget the fact they won 21 straight games by playing as a team. Forget the fact they did both of those because Tom Brady ran the team and the Pats knew he ran the team. Kobe says he can score 21 points a game and wants to be the 'franchise'. Tom Brady asks to be traded and is immediately sent to the Miami Dolphins and Bill Bilichek immediately resigns. No one hears from the Pats again as they are instantly relegated to 'just another team'. Oh yeh, and somehow, someway, some twisted mind says it's Brady's fault.

hats off to the pats for doing it again, even though it wasn't a convincing win by any means. They can't seem to win the big game by more then a few points. I think the eagles beat themselves tonight. Donovan couldn't keep his head in the game, obviously. This is a game the eagles should have easily won.

will people get off of Kobe's back already!!! contrary to what people want to believe, Kobe Bryant isnt the reason the Lakers went they way they did. it has more to do with Shaq than it was Kobe. leave the man alone. why not criticism of Allen Iverson or Tracey McGrady, who are bigger ballhogs than Kobe ever was?

as for the Patriots. i think this is the end of their run. no team can keep winning this long. ask the Steelers, ask the 49ers, ask the Cowboys. it has been a great run though....

Sorry PT, but the other guys you mentioned never destroyed a dynasty that well could have been the Patriots of basketball the way Kobe did with the Lakers. I know you disagree and you are entitled to your opinion. But Shaq ran the Lakers much the way Brady runs the Pats. Only difference is another player hasn't come along and tried to change the formula that has worked so well. It just turns me a little because I would have liked to see the Lakers win a few more titles with Shaq/Kobe. Working together they were one of the best in NBA history. If the Patriots have run their course and it does end soon so be it. At least it would be a natural end and not because a player decides he can do it better and wants to be the star and can't deal that someone else runs the team. Just my opinion. Look at what the Lakers have done since Shaq's absence and look at what the Miami Heat have done since his arrival. The proof is there.

this is going to get off topic concerning the Patriots, but as for Kobe Bryant. granted, he isnt "Mr. Innocent" and he did play a part in the breakup in the Lakers. however, he is NOT THE CAUSE of the breakup. if anyone ever decided to listen to Shaq's own words, you will see that he is only in it for the money. had Jerry Buss paid Mr. Lazy what he wanted, i can assure you he would still be wearing purple & gold.

as for the Miami Heat. if you take away Dwayne Wade, the Heat fall to about 6th in the pathetic East. Shaq doesnt equal titles. he plays a big part, but he is not THE reason. if that was the case, then where are the titles in Orlando? where are the titles before Phil came to the Lakers? in fact, if it wasnt for Kobe Bryant, the Lakers never get past the Spurs. Kobe beats the Spurs, not Shaq. it is so easy to hate Kobe Bryant, but if anyone paid attention, Shaq is more arrogant and more of a ball hog than Kobe EVER was. but, because Shaq is "Mr. Personality", it is easy to overlook his huge ego.

bottom line, Kobe and Shaq needed each other. problem is, Shaq has a playmaker on his team and Kobe doesnt have a big man. give Kobe a strong frontcourt player like Elton Brand and i can promise you, the Lakers will still be winning championships.

as for the Patriots, they wont allow an individual to break them up. they have way too many guys who will put someone in their place. i know Corey Dillon is one happy camper now....

Time Out

Last year didn't KObe have the best front court player in the game, playing at an almost MVP level in the playoffs and he DIDN'T win the championship due to his selfishness?

Put Kobe on the Patriots and the outcome would be very much my original post. Kobe can't play as a team. He wants to be THE team. Very much like Keyshawn "give me the ball" Johnson - he forgets he has other players on the team. Kobe didn't beat the Spurs - he helped beat the Spurs because they were so concerned about Shaq it left Kobe open. Check out the Miami Heat these days. Last year they were pathetic and the biggest change is the acquisition of Shaq. Now they are winners. Shaq didn't win titles by himself, he won them with and because of Kobe but even more so, he realizes it takes a TEAM to win titles. BUT that's neither here nor there and will never be again. Now Kobe can score his 50 points a game, pay all his lawyers off, and lead the Lakers to title after title. Meanwhile Shaq can play with a team that follows his lead and utilizes his strengths and become winners. Maybe this is why Shaq can help turn losers into winners and has just become the 2nd all time highest recipient of votes for the NBA all star game in history. Yeh, sounds lazy to me. Go figure that one out, and check out the outstanding record of the Lakers now that he's gone.

The Guy I Gained A LOT Of Admiration For Was T.O.

I always admired his ability and toughness, but I really gained a lot of respect for the man for proving he knows what the game is about. Given the choice between potentially sitting out and guaranteeing a longer career, and doing what a real pro does and play in a game that he may never get a chance to play in again, the man went out, played. AND played a HELL of a game.

I have to agree Neutron. T.O. played a whale of a game! My hat's off to him and the Eagles for finally getting to the big one. Now at least some of the pressure might ease on McNabb and the team.

They Could Very Well Make It Back

They have an excellent defense, an excellent coaching staff, McNabb is finally thinking, T.O. gave the team some personality and identity (VERY important by the way).

My guess is for much of the game the Patriots felt like they were playing the Patriots. It was really that close. One mistake and it would have been a different outcome.

first of all, T.O. played a whale of a game. if you think about the impact he has made this year, he is definitely THE guy in the NFL. who else can cause so much attention that the opponents of the Eagles flap their arms like T.O. does after a big play? after watching the Patriots celebrate, you would have thought it was the Eagles who made the big play.

as for Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal is L-A-Z-Y. if you dont remember, the Miami Heat was the FOURTH seed last year in the playoffs. they didnt have a miserable year. Shaq is no dummy. he wont go to the Atlanta Hawks. he will go where he can win. Kobe Bryant is THE reason why the Lakers got past the Spurs. there is no one on the Spurs that can defend Bryant. but they can defend Shaq. look at the job Malik Rose does on him. watch what happens when the Spurs play the Heat. Shaq will not be a factor. Shaq cant win games for you. his free throw liability proves that. now, if you were a coach, who would you have the last shot go to? Shaq or Kobe? what makes you think Shaq is all about "team"? because he says so? the same guy that says "give me the ball."? the same guy who says "you have to feed the big dog to keep him happy."? living in the LA area, trust me, we watched a lot of Mr. O'Neal and his laziness.

what people also fail to realize is that Kobe's own team recognize his importance. usually when the shot clock is running down and they cant create their own shot, who do they dump the ball to? Kobe. the Lakers when Shaq was there were stagnant and old. if Kobe Bryant gets hurt, those Lakers N-E-V-E-R win a championship. yeah, they wont win if Shaq goes down either. again, take Dwayne Wade away and the Heat becomes a mediocre team. plus, the REASON why the Lakers lost was not because of Kobe's selfishness, it was because the Pistons O-U-T-P-L-A-Y-E-D them. they put three on Kobe and dared anyone, including Shaq to beat them. in fact, if it wasnt for Kobe, the Lakers would have been swept.

point is, Kobe is just as selfish as Shaq, Allen Iverson, and Tracey McGrady. but yet, people like them, they just dont like Kobe. open your eyes and look at EVERYTHING that went down. your opinion will change....

Yet The Pistons

The Reigning champions said Kobe was lazy and wasn't their main concern. To a man they said Shaq was a far bigger concern and he played like it.

To an extent I agree about T.O. It wasn't the yards, it was the identity he gave the team AND more importantly his presence took the media pressure off everyone else.

I wouldn't go so far as to call him the biggest impact player in the NFL, because he wasn't. Rodney Harrison is.

I definitely look for the Eagles to do good things next year. I also look for the Panthers to be back. They had tons of injuries this year and that hurts any team. Will the Pats 3-peat? Only time will tell but I hear there will be some coaching changes next year. If that holds true the Pats will not repeat.

Hey PT, will we see some more of your wrestling stories? I like reading those. As far as Shaq and Kobe I guess we will agree to disagree. In the meantime we can both enjoy the remaining NBA season. So if you like wrestling who are your favs? Just curious. If you would like you can pm me about it. Thanks!

Rodney Harrison was DEFINITELY an impact player this year. with all the injuries the Patriots had, he held the secondary together. i agree with you on him. only Ed Reed had a bigger year. but, Rodney has another ring...

as for the Pistons, they tripled team Kobe. they didnt say Kobe was lazy. how? wherever Kobe went, Tayshaun Prince followed. if Kobe got by him, Chauncy Billups covered him. if Kobe somehow managed to get by him, Rasheed Wallace got in his face. Shaq? they SINGLED covered him. how many times have you seen a team SINGLE cover Shaq? Kobe is a game winner, Shaq isnt. did anyone watch the Finals besides me?
