guide to removing .txt endings

I'd love if this was stickied since people keep wanting to know this, but I'll leave it up to the admins.

This guide is made with the assumptions that you're running on a computer that is both a PC and runs on windows OS.

1. click on the start button on the bottom left side.

2. open control panel (sometimes found within settings)

3. open folder options in the control panel

4. click on the view tab

5. uncheck the box that reads "hide extensions for known file types"

The .txt files extension should now be included in all file names. If you want to delete the ".txt" out of the file all you have to do is select the file that you wish to change and press f2 key and it will allow you to switch the name of your file to one that a split program can recognize.

The same procedure apply is you open windows explorer or my pc, look for : Tools/folder options menu and follow since the 4th step of your guide.

ok this is weird but I renamed the file taking out the txt at the end and then try to join the file but it won't appear. But when i say cut the file it shows up in the folder, what's going on with that?

I don't understand clearly what you're trying to say, could you to explain what you did ?, what clip are you talking about ?. If i get a clear idea about what you're telling here, then maybe i can help you.
