Hacha Question

This program used to work on my computer now it doesn't. I've used it before so I do understand how to use it. Has anyone encountered this problem? I had everything in the same folder, double-clicked Hacha then nothing. The little blue box comes up but no options after that.

The file was something originally split by Hacha. Argh! This pisses me off. I can usually figure these things out, but I'm just dead tired right now.

Ideas?

That is very strange. If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend to delete Hacha.exe and try a fresh download (it's available here).

Thanks for the reply Mistress Val. I did try to use the latest version. I think the problem may lie within Win XP. I recently upgraded this computer and thats the only global change I made that might effect it. I've seen a few other posters in older threads state the same problem that I had. I wish that there was more net chatter concerning Hacha but I can't seem to find much.

Thanks again.

i just tried it my self , there might well be a problem!........but if it helps i used hjsplit for joining....🙂

Hmm... I'll have to try that. Thank you for the update. Do the file extensions need to be changed?

My Hacha still works (v3.5). Do either of you use a version of Windows that is not US English? I have heard of Hacha problems with some foreign-langauge Windows installations.

Im not sure if having a older version was the problem , ( it was us english ).but i did what you said and reinstalled the later version ( v3.5 ) and it works fine for now.( hope it works for featherdaemon )......thanks mistressvalerie for advice 🙂

Well my Win XP was set up as English language based. However I do have Japanese IME installed and it can recognize Japanese fonts without jumping through hoops. So that could be the problem.

Mortais, I tried to join with hjsplit, but it didn't work. The file did join, but it wasn't playable.

i had a similar problem a while back when i moved hacha.exe file into the same folder as my clips, to see if i could clear up desktop clutter, but it sorta fixed itself when i put it back on my desktop, its the only time ive ever had any kind of problem with it, and thus the only solution i know of. hope it helps.

Some Asian version of Win XP have troubles using hacha, i have Spanish Win Xp and it runs like a charm. Maybe you can create an alternative account in your win xp where you have only the necessary stuff, without that Japanese IME installed, maybe it fix the trouble. Good luck.
