Someone once told me that keeping happiness for oneself can only bring grief in the end and that it should be shared, so I thought of this kind of thread... where you can tell us your happiest moments, no matter how big or small they are.

For me it would be my 18th birthday. Before I explain it fully why is that moment my happiest moment let me give you some background on me. I was always a hermit type of a 'boy', always learning something new, my head in clouds and fantasies and similar. I didn't have much friends before my high school, but from there things just go up.

Now back to the story. 18th b-day, probably most memorable thing to the most of people here, besides child birth and anniversaries... I must admit that I wasn't expecting much people to remember that day, especially since I never talked about it much and I didn't care about it, but I was surprised that everyone remembered, hugging me and congratulating me. Even the professors which was really strange 🙂

And that was just the start of it. I always tried to help everyone I could, but for some reason I kept distance, and I just loath parties, but that time I decided to throw one, just for the sake of having fun. So I did and surprise surprise. Not only did my colleagues from high school come to my party, but even some of their friends I met and were very nice to me. It was a great party, more than 30 people in my house, sandwiches finished in comical manner by two of my friends, surprise cake brought in incognito, and there was some small beer smuggling operation, cause I detest alcohol and cigarettes, but I turned blind eye to that that time 🙂

Everyone one was having fan, even though they were not drunk, barely tasting some alcohol at all and I was happy for that. That proves that you don't need to be drunk to have fun. It was memorable day for me.... How about you? What is your happiest day? 🙂

hmm i have so many..i would say seeing my last baby on the ultrasound would have been one of my happiest days..seeing her kicking and sucking her thumb..ah well....

everyday is a happy day with my husband..he used to sing when we would go walking.."Every day's a holiday with you Mel." like from Mary Poppins lol..

The experts agree, remaining alive is quite crucial to one's happiness! Glad you're still with us!

My top-5, in no particular order:

1 - Learning how to use a computer for the very first time (a DecSystem-10, if it matters!). User interface very much like MS-DOS. Got introduced to computer gaming. Wrote a few simple games of my own in BASIC. Did some very, very elementary hacking. Joined the computer club. Enjoyed feelings of superiority to other users!

2 - Meeting (and eventually getting very close with) my first girlfriend.

3 - Learning how to process color film at home. At the time, it took an hour just to develop the negatives. I had to have prints made at a camera shop because there wasn't the room or money to set up a true color darkroom in my folks' house. (Damn digital cameras make everything too simple...no challenge to it anymore!)

4 - Graduating from college. Need I say more?

5 - Building my first electronic project (an amplifier) and having it work on the first try, even though I didn't quite know what the boink I was doing!

1) The first morning of the first vacation I took by myself.
2) The first glass of wine I drank with what is now an old friend.
3) The day I left the catholic church
4) My first day of college

and of course... the day "I learned to cry on command"

1) Proposing to my girlfriend... and her immediate acceptance!
2) Coming home from the First Gulf War and seeing my wife waiting anxiously for me at the airfield.
3) Buying and moving into our first home.

Ah. Happy moments. So few and far between are they for the ruler of the Universe.

We do remember one time when the kingdom of Ardentia attempted to rebel against our rule. Their leader, Prince Suul led his men against our Imperial Forces. When the uprising was over, Suul was dead and we put his son, Thun in power. This of course did not prevent us from blasting their kingdom as punishment.

Ah... good times.
