And happy 420 to each and every one! Sorry for the 14 minute late message...I was busy celebrating.

Toke up! 😀

this is a big day for ecw fans as well. the hollywood brother remembers when Mr. ppv himself RVD used to wear 420 on his shirt to celebrate drug use

I don't partake anymore, but I hardly begrudge anyone who does. Enjoy, all!
And a shout out to Ed Rosenthal, who's being unjustly harrassed by the Feds out in Cali.

I always wanted to get one of those shirts, and i miss old ecw. To everyone celebrating have fun and be safe.

Happy stoner day....or whatever the hell it is. Doesn't matter, i'm always stoned naturally...

*Gets high on life...because I don't do drugs besides natural highs...and of course adrenaline rushes....*😛

Ok...for straight laced people like myself...what the blue blazes is 420 day?

420 refers to marijuana--the story goes that a group of high school students in San Rafael, CA met behind the school at 4:20 PM each day to smoke up. This is, of course, unverifiable--but it DEFINITELY is not a dispatch code regarding illicit drug use. By extension, 420 is also 4/20--April 20. So, it's now an entire day devoted to the weed.

I am sorry I'm a day late...I was celebrating/taking care of others who celebrated a little too much...

Hope everyone had a safe, chill 420...

I know I did...

And you know it's 420 in Pittsburgh when:

-After weeks of gloom and doom, the sky is a blinding blue and it's finally warm out.

-You find glassware nestled in the grass where you park your blanket on Flagstaff hill in Schenley Park because some stoner was too blazed to remember to clean up after him/herself...

-Folks at the park are dancing, doing cartwheels, and playing with ribbon along with the frisbee players...

-The line at the O is A MESS!!!

Joy! :leaf:

Ha! Sounds awesome, Camel26! Back in the mid-eighties, when I lived in Hotlanta, crowds would gather in Piedmont Park and party down right in front of the cops, dancing, groovin' to music, playing frisbee and hackey-sack...

Good times! :leaf:

Ahhh, another feeble excuse to legitimize illegal drug use. I should have known... 🙄 :sigh:

Ky--I know about your stance on illegal drugs, and I respect you for it. However:
1) No need to add doom and gloom to this thread.

2) There are now legitimate studies that have been conducted (University of San Francisco did one on Cannibus use and HIV/AIDS patients) and many that are currently underway to prove the medicinal benefit of Cannibus Sativa. In fact, one of the studies is now being used to sue the federal government for witholding information about a potentially beneficial plant from those, like HIV/AIDS, and Cancer patients who could use it to stay alive. I'm not saying that it should be legalized, per se. However, it does need to be decriminalized on a federal level, specifically for medicinal purposes. The police in this country have enough to deal with. Frankly, I'd be more worried about the folks who drink. At least after a person smokes a but of greenery, the worst that is going to happen is they might want to scarf a bag of chips. 🙂 😉 😛

Just let the cannibus culture be...they aren't hurting anyone. And please, no one try to sell me on how smoking pot promotes terrorism...Marijuana is the #2 cash crop in the US...so it's coming from our own soil, or from Canada...

Just putting it all out there...I'm so tired of people thinking that just because a person smokes a little that they are some horrendous criminally insane individual...I might be a little nuts, but I knew that years before I ever tried smoking pot...😉

I'd never do it myself--my mom did it whilest neglecting my sister and I. Doesn't mean I don't know everybody who smokes isn't like that. I totally support the right to paartay anyway you like...I was high as a kite on 4/20...on caffiene and Senshi😛

Wow I've never heard of that before...that's hilarious that they actually devote a whole day to weed.lol.Hope everyone had a good one.:super_hap

And, though we agree to disagree, I respect yours as well, being more educated on the matter than most I have dealt with

Frankly, I worry about BOTH, esp. when my wife is driving to work at Children's Hospital at 11 PM to work her shift. The worst that can happen is more than just scarfing chips. I worry about drivers under ANY chemical influence.

Marijuana is the #2 cash crop in the US...so it's coming from our own soil

Trust me, living in Kentucky, where both types of 'tobacco' are leading cash crops...sad to say. I've just seen too often the end result, including the dumbing down of mine and following generations...

Some quotes:

“ Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known … The evidence in this record clearly shows that marijuana has been accepted as capable of relieving the distress of great numbers of very ill people, and doing so with safety under medical supervision. It would be unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious for DEA to continue to stand between those sufferers and the benefits of this substance.”
— Francis L. Young, DEA Chief Administrative Law Judge, 1988

“ [M]arijuana has an extremely wide acute margin of safety for use under medical supervision and cannot cause lethal reactions ... [G]reater harm is caused by the legal consequences of its prohibition than possible risks of medicinal use.”
— American Public Health Association, Resolution #9513, “Access to Therapeutic Marijuana/Cannabis,” 1995

Me and a few friends have a belief system regarding the "dumbing down" of people who smoke pot. Generally, Pot makes you lazy, hence, they lay around and "chill." This is a short-term affect, and generally goes away as does the high, unfortunately, the problem is that humans naturally fall into habits.

As such, humans find this "lazy pot-smoker lifestyle" to be found, generally, with pot smokers. People start to say funny things, or talk a certain way while high, and the lingo carries over into the everyday conversation of not only people who are currently high, but also the conversations being heard by those who do not partake in the high. Example: "Wooooaaah dude..."

While this isn't a good thing, it isn't a bad thing either. I believe (personally) in a "pro-choice" world, where, you pretty much have a choice to ruin your life however you want, so far as you aren't affecting others lives. This means, there should be a pot store, probably the same as a liquor store, which sells pot. Pot should come in varieties, as creating a more varied market increases demand, which increases sales, which increases profits.

I would be a big fan of a law prohibiting the legal use of marijuana while operating a motor vehicle, but, the out-right prohibition of marijuana is unfair and a poor way to take care of such a minor problem.

I believe booze and smoke (any form of smoke, really) should be relaxed laws. In Fact, America has some terrible laws (in my opinion) regarding controlled substances, such as requirements to be 21 before you drink, in other (European) Countries, you can drink all you want YEARS before you operate your first vehicle.

The great concept behind this would be, that you would understand the basic functions of trying to walk, let alone drive, years before you could potentially drive.

I mean, as a 21 year old, on my birthday, I went to a bar, (not my first time drinking in a bar, mind you) but, I got so smashed I threw up on myself in the bar, bought 2 more drinks, and drove myself home. Driving should not be something your comfortable doing while your mind is busy doing other things, such as making your eyes spin.

Thats why, I believe, 18 to drink, 21 to drive.

Oh, yeah, I went on a rant, and totally got lost, but, I don't care, and I can't remember what we were talking about anyway.

Must be all that pot I don't smoke 😀

Let's see what happens 50 years from now when the population is older and the tax base shrinks.

God knows the U.S. Pharmacopoeia is full of drugs which are much more dangerous than cannabis could ever be. Take barbiturates for example. (Or better yet, don't!)
