Today, January 12th, is the 50th birthday of Howard Stern. I know of no other mainstream personality to present tickling as something other than child's play. So happy birthday to the King of All Media. Is there any other radio or television host who has let the public know that tickling is adult play, too?

Good post. Happy birthday to Howard. His E show was one of the first places I saw tickling on TV, when he dressed up as Santa and tickled those three girls in 1996. After that, as many TMFer's know, hes had several shows with TMF member yaqi. It is good that Howard has helped bring tickling out into the mainstream on his show. I may have posted in case anyone didnt know how he tickled Robin Quivers feet in the 80s when he was still at WNBC. So, Happy Birthday, Howard, and I hope to see more tickling on the show soon.

Stern tickling Christmas '94

Mitchell, that's funny how you remember the E! show where Howard Stern, dressed as Santa Claus, restrained and tickled the three strippers. (It was December 1994.) Someday I will post the story in full detail, but just to tell you, I was behind the scenes in making that show happen. Bobby, the guy who took the strippers to Howard, was a friend of mine (several years later we lost touch).

It all started when Bobby had met Chrissy the stipper. She agreed to let us take pictures of Bobby tickling her at my apartment. We sent some of the shots to the Stern show and Howard invited Bobby on the show. (Not one for the limelight, I stayed behind.)

Damn, this year marks ten years since those days. Tempus fugit.
