Harlem Globetrotters Icon Meadowlark Lemon passed away today at age 83.

Mr Lemon was a wonderful athlete, both as a basketball player, and as an entertainer.

I went to see the Harlem Globetrotters once at Madison Square Garden, with my parents, when I was very young, and was amazed at the athleticism and entertainment the team provided.

R.I. P. Mr Lemon.
 
I saw them perform in person once, also in Madison Square Garden. Rest In Peace, Mr. Lemon.
 
I remember seeing then on TV (!) in the 70's... even there they were great. Never saw any of the newer incarnations, but no doubt Meadowlark influenced every one of the newer Globetrotters. He's now trotting a new globe. RIP? I think he's just started.....
