Thought I'd try a bit of a lighter topic tonight. I'm reading an article on the Ohio State-Illinois game, and there seems to be a lot of problems with the officiating. Let's see if I got this right:
  • This officiating team is being considered for a suspension because of the way they managed the previous Purdue-Penn State game.
  • Many fans are upset at perceived "non-calls" that might has cost Ohio State the game.
  • Now the entire Big-10 nation is upset because this probably cost the conference a shot at TWO BCS games instead of just the Rose Bowl, thus costing as much as 4.5 Million extra in revenue.
I don't want to intrude on the sensitivity of sports fans on this forum, but hasn't this just gone WAY TOO FAR?! I love sports and football, but I love the game itself, and when college football gets all torn up because of loss revenue and the human element of officiating, there's something wrong here.

Just my opinion, but thought I'd throw it out there for all of you college football fans. I'm just happy that my alumni might possibly get into a FCS playoff game, so I don't really understand the big bucks involved in the BCS subdivision. Thanks for listening to my ravings.
