I finished this picture last night, while it was still technically my birthday, but I didn't put my initials and date on it yesterday, since by the time I had put the finishing touches it was already past midnight.

Anyways, I'm very proud of how this picture came out, even though there were a few nagging things about it that kept bothering me throughout the process. The main thing was InuYasha himself. Since I have little to no experience drawing male characters, it made it difficult. I'm also not used to drawing two characters in one picture. So angles and such and how close they were was taken into consideration even more so.

Anyways, this is my first time drawing either of these two characters or anything from this series. I hope I did them justice.

This was a request made by a member of my yahoo group, and while I switched some things around, I sure hope he enjoys it when he sees it, and I hope you do too.

I call this one "Haste To The Festival" as InuYasha is carrying Kagome to a nearby festival thats about to begin. 🙂

P.S- This picture is much larger in byte size than any of my other pictures, even if they were colored. This is due to the quality and details, the colors, and to the background. Please be patient if for some reason the picture takes a while to display. Its well worth the wait. Thank you. ^__^

Thanks for the pic, DJ.
Never thought I'd see Inuyasha look innocent 😎

I love the colors.
Cool background.

@ asrial- Neither did I. But this is one of those special moments that they share. Theres no words, only emotions. Thats what I wanted to capture, even though they are on the move.

@ rajee- Thanks alot. ^^

@ everyone-

This was originally a request for tickling. The requester made it very clear though that he wanted the scene to be romantic and heart-felt and such. I completely agreed. Although, as I got to drawing the lineart, I just felt that it wasn't appropriate for this picture to be about tickling. I felt in this instance the tickling would have taken away from this moment these characters are sharing. It would have been completely distracting, and all attention would most likely be on the tickling rather than on them.

So I relucantly took the tickling out, but made up for it in part by showing Kagome's soles. I also have one of her sandles dangling on her toe, for effect. I thought you guys might like that.

The biggest change however was in the situation. As it was, he wanted them to just be sitting, persumably under a tree. Somehow I didn't think that was good enough. So I opted to draw InuYasha carrying Kagome. That was more romantic and bondish, I think.

Another big change is Kagome's outfit. Orignally it was requested that she wear her school-girl outfit. But I figured since they were going somewhere, it might as well be somewhere important and worth looking different and dressed up for, for a change. So, I gave Kagome a traditional japanese woman look, complete with yukata and facial makeup.

I also added little designs and highlights to InuYasha's attire so he would stand out too. 🙂

While some things were taken out in the final piece, the moment was captured as desired. 🙂

Thank you Falcon. 🙂

What did you mean with the last part? You liked the bottom of the same one more? I don't understand..

very, very good pic, especially the coloring. too cute for words. which reminds me, inuyasha is starting now. *runs off to watch it*

Funny how you worded it differently in the other thread for this. 😛

But I'll tell you exactly what I said there-

" Thats second time I've heard that. How does it not look like Kagome people? The only differences is that she has makeup on, her hair is up and held back (and has a purplish tint to it which I might add is common and she even has it in the anime from time to time), and she's wearing a yukata.

Use some common sense..obviously she's going to look different if she's dressed differently and all that.

Other than that, I'd say it looks just like her. Sorry to blast you like that, but I don't see how it doesn't look like her just because I didn't draw her as she typically looks. That would have been boring for this picture and the whole point of a festival and going there wouldn't have seemed important if she didn't get dressed up."

Think about that and take it into consideration.

Yeah. And I made it a point to keep her bangs the same, so that she would be distinguishable as Kagome. There are other small nuances I added just in case there was any confusion as to who this was.

Because, granted, she does look different because of whats going on with her appearance. I just made sure that she didn't look TOO different to a point where she wasn't recognizable.

Any girl that gets dolled up like this is going to look somewhat different.

Oh yah, especially with the hair. There's a few people I know that look totally different when their hair changes. (Especially with her cheeks really red like that LOL, wayyy too much makeup, even for a festival).

Actually, its not too much makeup by traditional japanese standards. Geisha girls, etc, would paint their faces white with makeup and then apply a bold layer of red lipstick to their lips and red blush to their cheeks. Its very traditional and part of the culture. Its something you won't see anymore though, not unless you are fortunate enough to be apart of some tour, event, or some such.

I like it very much! It is very well colored, and I too love the sandal dangling from the big toe 🙂
