This afternoon, when attempting to log into my yahoo e-mail account and my IM service failed to log me I realized the problem- my account had been deleted/deactivated.

Now, this is the first time this has ever happened to me over anything. And I know why it happened- the fetishy stuff on my group. Its the only explaination other than a dire error with the system that I paid the price for. Despite the fact my group was in the adult section (something I only did to protect it, I didn't like having to put it there because theres nothing adult about it), it was probably still dealt with for the same reasons other artists and their groups were dealt with.

But theres one big difference between them and I- I don't see this as a bad thing. I've not been ya-screwed. I don't see a reason to believe I have been. I accepted the fact, as a non-fetishist, that simply dabbling in the tickling community would have a reprocussion or two for me later on. I accepted this as an inevitability, not a long shot. Unlike alot of people who thought they were safe and complacent, I knew a day would come when simply being associated with this genre by any means would cost me something, however trivial it was.

I'm guilty by association, I suppose.

Well, whatever. Whatever happens happens. The group is still there, I just cannot access or moderate it. But I am smart and think ahead. By having everything about the group moderated, no spammers will be able to make prey of it (they sure as hell haven't even tried for years), and no new members will be able to join. Since its effectively out of my hands now, out of everyone's hands, I feel liberated. The group, despite its long success since October of 2002 and wealth of members (3,500+) was losing a significance to me. This became especially true when I joined up with TMF, TT , and also created my own DeviantArt, SheezyArt, MA, RA, DH, AH (and other site accounts).

The actual NEED for the yahoo group was no longer necessary, but was more of a novalty for me after having seen how fast my art was taken in and how famous I became in a much shorter ammount of time on these other sites. The yahoo group could no deliver to me what I needed as an artist to make any sort of an impact. It had outlived it's usefullness.

Indeed, yahoo was the first stepping stone on the internet for my art, the first place I'd ever uploaded my pictures and the first place I had ever taken a fetish request (which is how I came to be a part of this community to begin with). There are very fond memories still and I do not nor will I take for granted the times and loyalty you have shared with me in this journey. I earned every single one of those memberships. I did not spam other groups, ***** my own artwork on other groups, or did anything that would give me an edge I might not necessarily deserve. Whatever I had there I owed to faithful friends, new fans, and my own artistic merits and abilities.

I played it by the book, fair and square and I won. The end of this group is the end of the game. I have completed it proper, and I couldn't be happier with how that went.

DJ's_Fanart will always be something I will look back on and smile.

...............especially since I can just create another damn group if I wanted to! ROFL! I just don't see it happening. It serves no point or purpose. I'm bigger than a yahoo group and these other sites are more high-tech and just are capable of more. By creating another group, its like defying yahoo and spitting in their eye for doing, whats in my opinion, a favor.

I would never have deleted the group on my own, and will have continued posting and updating as always though. With the links intact this leaves the group like a museum. If they want to go to the source they will know how to find me.

To quote Commander Gendo Ikari from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion:

"Everything is kept in my heart, I'm satisfied with that."

Also, in light of this event comes the need for new information.

My new e-mail address is [email protected]

My new yahoo IM sn is jaded_jones_7

If you are going to contact me for business related purposes, commissions, etc, please PM or e-mail me instead. This new IM is to be for basic conversations and chit-chat, and I'd appriciate it if you do not request things from me or commission me via this account. Please use the other resources available to you. Thank you. 🙂

At least you're still an Evangelion fan.

Too bad about your group though. I've always thought your art is great.

LOL, yeah. I was watching that episode earlier today actually, which I why I quoted that part when this happened. It just served the point so well.

Thanks for your support. Its actually to my benefit and advantage this way. If I do create another group, it really would just be for this community (that is the ticking community) and I'd reclaim what I had faster.

I'm sorry if my taking this so light-heartedly when others have suffered from group loss. Its just that this one group no longer has the same significance that it did, and as I said, the art is always available elsewhere. I'm hardly wounded by it.

The sentimental value is intact, and I'm satisfied with that.

gee, i hope they dont nuke my group anytime soon.

Hey celtic, you mention the following, please tell me what they are:

MA, RA, DH, AH (and other site accounts).

I would like to check them out.

thanks,

Its hardly a conspiracy in my opinion, and I felt this was meant to be and is quite possibly for the best. Why do I feel this way? Because ever since that October I have never had a single trouble with yahoo or that group. We're talking years of seeing other artists and their groups drop like flies yet my stood the test of time. I had a very successful run with that group (especially as the underdog I was/am in not being a tickling fetishist among tickling fetishists).

Whether this was a fluke or a concrete decision on the part of yahoo, it definitely lightens my load, makes sharing my art easier actually, and assures its seen by either the people that would have interest in it or the people who would have seen it anyway, group or no group.

By planning ahead and branching out and embracing the online art community I've effectively kept this event from causing an impact of any kind. I don't have to "start over" so to speak, I'm already established all over the place, and that gives me a great sense of peace and security, since I know those places don't undermine anything.

To answer your question about those sites, with due respect to you and the community, I would rather keep those sites to myself, thank you. I like seperating my business on each site from the others and to keep them isolated when I can so they don't blend together and issues from other sites don't cross over, etc. Mind you, it has nothing to do with the fact this is a tickling fetish forum, theres nothing for me to be embarassed about, its just not well served to link people to these places. Trust me, I'm doing you and them a favor.

Yup. Your group is still online. Too bad you don't have any moderators. I guess it will gather dust and be removed eventually.

I was just asking what MA, RA, DH, AH stand for, not your particular site info. for instance. TMF is hard to find the url for unless you know it stands for tickling media forum, then its easy to go to the home page with a quick google search. I already knew about deviantArt, and now know about SheezyArt; i was curious what the other acronyms stand for.
( I assume since you put in the actual acronyms, you wont mind if we know what their full names are. )

Yes, that is what will happen if theres no new activity, and there can't be with everything moderated.

It would seem however that I may be able to retrieve the group provided what I'm looking into is not a yahoo error. Either way, a new group would be better served than the same one.

I know thats what you meant, but thats one reason I used acronyms, I don't want to release their full names actually. Some of these sites are small or made up of close-knit folks or the site caters to specific themes or cliches, and I don't want to be mixing my business together. As I said, I like isolating my online activities as that makes it easier to deal with each site with no reprocussions of any kind filtering into another. It maintains a balance for me and linking other people from a completely foreign site would disrupt that in indirect ways for myself and others. If its a regular site, for example, it makes it easier to jump into this site and vice versa. I know what you're asking has less to do with me and more to do with an interest in knowing these sites, but again, I'd just rather not and I'm sorry if I'm being too secretive or you feel its unfair somehow. I don't think you're missing anything anyway.

And I only mentioned them to establish what I had said earlier- that I'm on multiple sites so this event hasn't done damage. I wasn't purposely trying to lead you or anyone on or make you curious. Sorry.

You should not just assume that Yahoo.com decide to delete/deactivate your account, as there are plenty of other reasons that can cause this and Yahoo.com probably would have sent you a form notice of such.

A hiccup on Yahoo.com's server could easily screwed up your account, or your account may have been hacked.

I know from experience about this, so maybe you should contact Yahoo.com for and explanation of what occurred?

Yes, I know that already. But thank you for the advice all the same. 🙂

It would seem there is a problem with the password system at this point. Originally, when I had experienced this problem it told me my password is invalid. It would later prove to not fix itself. So in trying to request a new password it wouldn't actually show me the new password or say that one had been created. At one point it even said my account did not exist, and I even searched for my IM sn on yahoo, and it did not show up, which is why deletion of the account is a moreso a viable possibility.

I COULD contact yahoo, but then look at what I'm doing. They will no doubt look into it allright, but they will see the group as an adult group, which it is not, and they may delete it. So in a way, its like telling them where my group is so they can delete it.

Because it would seem they delete groups when they can, of this nature of course.

I could only hope that by asking about my e-mail address only, they wouldn't look into anything else.

I know already the group is not deleted, its a problem with the account, so I'm not sure what I should do. By asking them for help, I'm potentially compromising the group anyway, which is why I'd almost rather just leave the group be and create another later with my new account. No one would doubt the owner is me and when they saw me reposting some pictures and adding new ones there would be no doubt and people could just cross over to the new one and the old one would be a locked archive of sorts.

As I said, this works to my benefit. I'm just not sure what I should do with the account. If I ask them for help, I'm letting them know its me, my group, and then they may delete all three accounts including the one I'm using now.

i feel your pain Celtic_Emperor, yahoo got 2 of my past Yahoo IDs plus when my other friend tried to reg up a group or 2 they would instantly get deleted and i also talked with one of my other friends via hotmail. He was telling me that when he tried to setup an anime feet group it didn't even last 10 minutes before getting deleted. I noticed my groups disappearing from my list day by day. I use to be a member of hentai, feet/anime feet, tickling/tickling groups. I would always see them disappear... then i learned if you don't save everything from the group/groups you might never see them again. :triangle:

stay cool 😎

Ah, this issue has been long over since July of last year. Did you really need to bump such an old thread? What a waste of your first post.

ah i missed that. I thought it was 2006 not 2005, my first post here and i messed it up

sorry about that

Even so, this old thread must have had you looking past the first several pages or more just to find it. When something is that far back in the pages, it's a good sign it's old. LOL

Anyways, it's no problem. Don't worry about it.

Since you did bump it, I might as well take the time to remind everyone that no, I am not dead or inactive, and that you'll find me on DA and TT, to name a couple places. 🙂

Hey CE, long time no see. Are you still a Mod at Tickle Theater?
To get back on topic... Luckily, all of my groups are still intact I believe.
:dogpile:

Hiya.

As you know, I have been a moderator of my own forum there for years (too bad the same can't be said for this place, I guess it has different standards and thinks of me differently then TT does). I've had my forum there for years now, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

On topic, there are plenty better alternatives to yahoo, but people need to want to put a little more effort into them. Settling for a yahoo group is a choice and you needn't necessarily dish out money to find a better service.
