Alright. Since I was a little kid and got to see the original TRON movie, I had this persistent fantasy about being able to own a TRON action figure that actually lights up.

I know. Me and shooting for the stars are only passing aquaintences.

Anyhoo...When I grew up, I obviously left behind my childhood fantasies...Except the one about owning a real working Lightsabre.

However, a few weeks ago I was at the store looking at gifts for one of my nephew's upcoming birthdays. I happened upon the TRON Legacy figures in the toy isle and noticed that they really light up! "Heh" I thought "So they finally did it." I walked away and went to go buy some rice crackers.

Fast forward to this last weekend. I'm seriously contemplating picking one of them up for myself. Not to play with, mind you, but to put it on my computer desk as a decorative prop...I might fiddle with it for a second or two.:neenerneener:

I am trying to justify this purchase, but part of me keeps telling me that I'm too damn old for this stupid shit.

I don't know. What do you think?

If the idea makes you happy go for it says I. Pick the darn thing up and play with it if the spirit moves you. Who the hell cares what people might think? I've come to the conclusion that life is too short to worry about things like that.

You are never too old for cool toys.

And I want a working lightsaber too.

So is there some sort of law that says adults can't buy action figures for themselves? Just do it man! And yes I agree where did you get a real working lightsaber?!

A chainsaw is an old school precurser to the Lightsabre

Just don't go to DragonCon, the people there will ridicule you without mercy......... 😉 Ebay was partially built on folks like me trying to recapture a happy memory from their youth. Buick build a ''Le Sabre", is that a Jedi prototype? :0

In marketing, this is what's considered a "low-risk" purchase, with little regret involved. Action figures cost what... $10? $20 tops if you buy them at Spencer's or FYE? It's something you wanted when you were younger. I say go for it. It's not gonna be a difference-maker in the grand scheme of your life.
