Having seen the series when it first aired, I must say that, while it is excellent, it is also riddled with factual errors. I stopped counting when I got to six errors concerning the history of the Dodgers. (I'm sure there were more that didn't concern the Dodgers, but that's the team whose history I know the most about.)
Two examples:
1) It states that Babe Ruth had the game-winning RBI for the Red Sox in his extra-inning complete game victory against the Dodgers in the 1916 World Series. He didn't. He had an RBI in that game, but not the GWRBI in the 14th inning.
2) It states that the Dodgers lost the last game ever played in Ebbets Field, which was in 1957. They didn't; they won 2-0. I wrote to Burns about this one, stating that then young pitcher Danny McDevitt had a complete game shutout for the Dodgers and would be quite unhappy to hear that somebody mistakenly reported it as a loss. I never got an answer.
Probably worth watching in spite of the errors.
