Good info...

Asu is correct. As for not caring about people accessing your credit reports, it can lead to problems and questions, whether or not your credit is good or bad. Q

Really? I don't know how credit reports work. All I know, if it says nothing or bad, you don't get credit extended. If it's good you get inundated (sp) with credit card offers.

It's a process...

An extremely important one. You should have at least one credit card, especially if you're a young female, and use it (and PAY IT OFF) every month. This is the first step in establishing a credit history that can greatly benefit you down the road. Here's a link for basic info. This really IS a very important step for young adults, and one that gets neglected, often out of either fear(s) or ignorance.

Not establishing credit and learning how to correctly utilize it can hurt you throughout your adult life. Conversely, a good credit report opens a LOT of doors. Try it...you'll like it eventually! Q

Thanks for the link. I've applied for some cards, specifiaclly the used for building credit ones, and I've been rejected by all and I know there is nothing in my credit report that is bad. 😕 How am I suppost to build when they won't give me any, is what I'm wondering.

Starting point..

Try a Sears or JC Penneys card...something in that category, and build from there. Obviously you'll need to be careful, but you have to USE the card to make the system work in your favor. Let me know how it goes... Q

There's a type of credit card called a 'secured' credit card, where you give the card issuer $500 and he turns around and gives you a $500 credit limit on the card.
Sounds kind of silly, but it's a way to start building credit, and anybody should be able to get one of those cards.

Hey Lime, gasoline companies never refuse credit cards (to the best of my knowledge). Get yourself a gas credit card - even if you don't have a car or drive. Use it to buy gum, sodas or something, and pay it off every month. There is no interest if you pay this type of card off every month and it will show up on your credit report.
