Ok, I have been wondering about this forever, and hopefully somebody knows what I am talking about. I will give as much detail as I can.
I was around 4 to 5 years old when I saw this. No older than 6. I am 46 now, so we are talking 40ish years ago. I was visiting family, and my cousin, who was 5 years older than me, was watching this weird TV show.
The show, as I remember in the tiny fragments that remain, was some kind of show where people do weird things or pranks? I vaguely remember something with a chicken costume, and something else with luggage or something? Idk exactly, like I said, I was very young and it was so long ago.
Here is what I do remember pretty decently, at least compared to everything else. At one point, the host of the show brings a woman from the studio audience on stage. She is sitting on a stool and he gives her the offer "I will give you $5 if you let me tickle you for 5 minutes." Now, 5 bucks isnt a ton of money, but it was a slightly better deal in the early 80s.
At first she was saying no, but eventually relented. He gives her the five dollar bill and she puts it in the pocket of the light jacket she was wearing.
He then starts tickling her her sides while she sits on the stool. I remember he laughing and squirming. At one point, he put his hand inside the pocket and was tickling her, and I remember thinking he was going to take the money back.
They obviously didn't show the full five minutes. They either cut away to something else or went to commercial, but did come back at the end. She had endured the 5 minutes and earned her 5 dollars.
I have been part of the online tickling community for 25 years and have never once seen this mentioned. I know I didn't imagine it. My cousin and I commented on how much fun the host looked to be having and how ticklish the woman was. He even made me the same offer, which i turned down lol.
Unfortunately, I can't ask him, as he passed away. I have no other information than what I have provided here, but I have been wishing I could see this again for 40 years.
