That is so true. Usually when someone posts a "Hi, I'm new" thread, if it's a female there will be about a hundred responses, if it's a guy there's usually like five.

I think there actually are quite a few women out there that like tickling. It's just that they don't tend to spend too much time at this forum. We have a few women who post regularly around here, though, and most of them are pretty cool.

However...if you really want to experience why a lot of women don't hang around here very often, you could,

1. Create a new account
2. Give yourself a username such as nicegirl87, sweetticklegal911, etc.
3. Log into either the Personals forum or the Pen Pal forum

Do try to be fair to the men, here. It is perfectly reasonable for them to reply to a post such as you described by PMing the person or sending them Instant Messages. The dummy post you wrote invited such contact.

One might justly censure people for the content of such contacts, if inappropriate, but complaining about the number of individuals making such contact is unreasonable when contact was invited from the populace as a whole.

I guess I probably did jump the gun a little. But what I was actually getting at was the likely content of most of the replies. I would go into detail about this, but I'm sure we're all intelligent enough to use our own intuition on that one. In short, they get gobs of lewd messages from people with no concept of manners, jump to the conclusion that we're all a bunch of sick freaks, and go wandering off into the night in search of some other outlet for their desires.

However, to look at it from the girl's perspective, I can see getting a little overwhelmed at the number of replies...even if she doesn't have much else to expect. I mean, she's getting replies from gobs of responders, all of whom are extremely eager to talk to her (and probably meet her, too)---and she probably wasn't expecting to get that many replies, either. If that happened to me, I would probably feel the same way.

This is precisely my point. Some people do seem to forget this is a female, possibly new or inquisitive about her fetish, quite possibly very nervous about entering a forum in the first place - I know I was and I'm male - and then gets an avalanche of drooling pm's from over-excited *&%$!£%*)(&$ . . . This unfortunately, doesn't encourage female participation.

Men are many times more likely than women to have any specific fetish. That's just the way it is. Treating women on the TMF with courtesy and respect is certainly a good thing, but no amount of polite treatment is going to bring the ratio even close to 50/50.

On the positive side, women tend to be more "flexible" than men with regards to their sexuality.
