My mom was released from the hospital again today, after three and a half days. Friday and Saturday were very difficult days, that Thank God turned out okay.
With all the stomach problems my mom was having, they did extenstive tests on her lungs and stomach. The VQ test for clots in her lungs came back negative, no clots in the lungs.
On Friday, she had an endoscopy (scope down the throat into the stomach) to see if the cancer had God Forbid spread there. Thank God, all came back clean. Yesterday, she had a colonoscopy to check if the cancer had spread. Also, came back clean.
The diagnosis: Severe Irritable Bowel Syndrome. My mom was told to take Immodium, and the stomach Dr said she can eat anything.
Of course, we were terrified. Both of us thought for sure that the cancer had spread to the stomach.
We heard from our cancer Drs in NJ. Dr C, the radiologist, told us not to worry about the body scan until she feels better. We plan to call him tomorrow to discuss it.
Hopefully we are home for good. We are both drained.
Thanks as always for the support.
Mitch
