Hi guys, Halloween is coming so I was wandering if any of you knows some good horrors? I'm throwing a party and looking for movies that would keep as awake for whole night 😉 all ideas are welcome!
as for me, my favs are The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Shutter, thai version not american remake, anyone with similiar taste?

try Braindead (Dead Alive in the US), My favourite zombie movie although not for everyone's tastes

Try watching.... Dead Snow! Its in swedish or something but it has english subtitles. Its worth the pain of reading subtitles. Its freaky and funny at the same time! Of course my sense of humor might be a bit morbid lol

thanks for feedback guys! I have in plans to watch Braindead, have seen Army of Darkness and I checked Arsenic and Old Lace - isn't it more of a black comedy than horror? and from description Dead Snow sounds like a lot of fun :lol I'll keep your suggestions in memory!

Oh! I thought of something else! What about "The Frighteners"? I personally didnt find it scary, but I think it falls under the horror category. Oh, and look for "Zombie Strippers". havent seen it, but it sounds funny to me 🙂 Oh! (last one I promise) look for "Santa's Slay". Its a bit Christmas-ee but its a horror thriller movie with decent shock value. I wasnt scared but I found myself thinking 'Holy Crap!' alot. 🙂

ha, I see you guys like zombie movies :lol
Demonwolf91 - you mean the oryginal versions or remakes? Zombie women from hell sounds fun!
Starkiller - you gave me a lot of titles! I'll keep them in mind and use gradually for horror marathons 😉
Abadon - I have seen Dead Silence and it got me pretty scared, I hate ventriloquist dolls due to the certain ep of Goosebumps I watched as a kid.. do you know more movies like that?

Depends how extremely scary you wanna get...

For horror/comedy try "Doghouse" a british movie (with Mickey from Dr Who!)
I'll also recommend The Frighteners cause it's one of my fav movies ever-another Peter Jackson masterpiece...

If you like Japanese movies, try Kowai Onna (Wicked Women) it's like the Japanese Tales from the Crypt. It's not super-scary or intense like Ringu, Ju-On, Kairo, etc...or Urotsukidoji-the Overfiend, the original Hentai horror/porn (X-RATED! NOT FOR MINORS!!!)

If you've seen all 3 Evil Deads and crave more hilarious gorefests try Feast 2 and Feast 3 (haven't seen Feast 1 yet)

For truly scary stuff have you ever seen the original B&W version of "The Haunting"? There's SO MUCH horror it's hard to narrow it down... I don't recommend "Let Me In"- it's an excellent movie, if you 'get' it, but there's elements in it movie that WILL offend most Americans.

....And what Halloween would be complete without Creepshow? Trick 'R Treat (not Trick OR Treat) is the best modern movie in the same vein as Creepshow.

One of my fav podcasts is "Dr Despicable's Chamber of Cinema"-a mad scientist who reviews movies. He'll steer you right!

thanks for the site Abadon!
Slaver, I would like to have a balance between scary movies and grotesque movies, and as for now I think I have more of scary/funny movies.
noo, I hadn't seen the oryginal Haunting.. will keep that in mind! and I suppose you mean the swedish Let Me In? I have seen the american version. and I'm European so no worry 😉
and this year Creepshow is a must!

Ok, I know I promised I wouldnt suggest anymore.... but I went to rent some movies earlier and I saw some stuff that made me think of you!!! For example: "Insidious". I saw it, and its actually pretty creepy. Its kind of a cross between paranormal activity and poltergeist. There's also this other movie called... are you ready for this?.... "The Bunnyman"!!! I only read the back, but it sounds like its basically the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, except the guy wears a giant bunny mascot head instead of a flesh mask. I laughed alot at this. Finally, there was something called "Human Centipede". I didnt watch it but my friend did and he said it was wierd and creepy. I think South Park made fun of it one time.... with Ipod warranties... idk. Forgive me!! lol

*ahem*

The Thing, [REC] and [REC]2 (Quarantine 1, 2 and Terminal if you want the different, American version), Land of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Tremors 1, 2, 3 and 4 (humor/horror), Return of the Living Dead 1, 2 and 3, Paranormal Activity 1 and 2, Dead Silence, The Grudge, the Ring, the Halloween and Scream series', the Alien series, Stephen King's IT, the Hellraiser series, Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2, the Pumpkinhead series, and Sleepy Hollow.

EDIT: And for less serious things, there's one of my old favorites, the Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Cheesy, stupid, yet fun to watch.

And if you feel like watching Youtube instead, there's the Marble Hornet's series.

The human centipide is more gross than scary, I watched some of it but didn't like it much. see the south park episode and you'll get a basic idea of what its like :lol

My favs are probably older than most of us living.....

"The Uninvited" Starring Ray Milland, "The Haunting" Starring Claire Bloom, "The Tower of London" Starring Vincent Price (good rack scene and plenty of ghosts). I have some ghost documenteries on DVD.

Really don't care for blood, guts or zombies. Prefer to have my mind scare the Hell out of me. Don't need today's Hollyweird to do it for me.

As far as horror movies go I'm gonna have to give my edge to The Mist, with The Thing following at a close second. Other good titles you might want to watch are Hostel, Saw, Seven (even if it's technically not a horror film. It's still awesome as hell (no pun intended.)), The Omen, The Reaping, Drag Me To Hell, and The Fly 1 & 2 (80's version). I only recommend the last one because there's a scene that literally made me cry but it's still a good flick.

I'll also suggest you watch Zombieland. It's not as dark as most horror movies but I still love it.

P.S. Even though it's not very scary, no Halloween party would be complete without Ghostbusters.

"Dracula, Prince of Darkness" is on Youtube!!! 2nd Christopher Lee Drac movie- in full brutal colour!! This scared me as a kid, and it's still pretty intense now.

Damn! I forgot about The Changeling (original, starring George C. Scott).
BTW, any movie made by Roger Corman or Castle Films.

Saw the Exorcist (original) in the movies. Played hookie with a former friend. He was in shock afterwards. Had to drag him outside and got some coffee.

thank you all for many lovely ideas 🙂!

Starkiller, go and rent Human Centipede, NOW! it's is not a masterpiece, but the whole idea is very creative and disturbing, I have watched it last Halloween and now I'm looking the Internet upside down for the second part 😉

Dead silence is pretty good too, and no it is not a zombie movie >.>

beware the stare of Mary Shaw
she had no children, only dolls
and if you see her, do not scream
or she'll rip your tongue out at the seam.
