A man was struck by a car and woke up two days later in a hospital bed. A nun was sitting next to him and explained that he was in Sisters of Mercy Hospital and that she worked for the billing office. The rest of their conversation went like this:
"Do you have medical insurance?"
"No, none."
"Do you have investments, bank accounts, or a house?"
"No, nothing."
"Do you have any relatives who could help you pay your hospital bill?"
"No, my only living relative is my spinster sister who became a nun, just like you."
"We nuns are not spinsters. We are married to God."
"Wonderful. Please send my hospital bill to my brother-in-law."
